Online play is terrible

9 times out of 10, I get scored on with the exact same goal. Can't figure out how to stop an opponent from doing this at least 5 times in a match.

I feel your pain! This is exactly why I limit my online games to people in my friends list that play realistic hockey and want realistic stats.

None of those are glitch goals and that hipcheck video is from the demo. Online play is fine except for a few things..

The new tuner update ruined the legit goals and made it so people have to do unrealistic things to score now.. It has now become a figure skating constest but I am stopping them, it is just annnoying..

And I am 44-14 in otp and club.. All I am saying is that they need to up the poke, and decrease the deke and protect puck feature effectiveness

If you let a real life NHL forward skate right across the face of the goal, or let him in one on one with the goalie, they're going to score more often than not.

I know it may seem like a glitch goal when guys online attempt to recreate these types of opportunities over and over again, but they're actually pretty easy to defend. I try to play as realistically as possible when online, and I've been beating most of the guys who only try to go for these types of goals. There's a little bit of a learning curve to the defense, but once mastered, you can shut down guys that try and spam one or two types of scoring techniques.

Guys, I never said any of this was glitchy (though I think the 'I don't care if you slowed down to a crawl, touch my hip and you go flying because the laws of physics don't really apply here' comes pretty close). I know the videos have that in the title, but they're not my videos and I have no control over that.

That's the problem, though… the vast majority of players I've run in to online do that exact same thing over and over and over again. I do my best to defend it, but they still break through multiple times in a game and the score ends up lopsided. Again, not a glitch, but I do consider it a little cheap when my AI defenseman never do a thing to break this up, either. Can't play as a team; I've got to try and stop everything myself.

Or, here's an idea: why can't my goalie get a clue that this is coming and move to stop it himself? Sure, that leaves open the near side of the net, but that's only fair (and realistic).

If anyone has any pointers on how to reliably shut this down, I'd love to hear them.

i only play a few games @ a time online...

i dont wanna take the hockey back and then they release some patches
2 fix all the buggy no defense play then i be mad like i am now...

took back Ncaa 11 Now the patch is released making it better...madden released
its patch right b4 i took it back for NHL 11 so im waiting for some patches b4 i get
back online 2 heavy.....barely beat a bum who did the same goal every time..

Glad more people are seeing this, I made a thread about it a day or two after release. The game is awesome, but incredibly unbalanced.

If it wasn't bad enough having everyone run around and try the same goal over and over and over… this is what it feels like when it's my turn to shoot.

2-0 online so far. Just finished whooping two guys who quit before it was over. Was winning the first game 5-2 before I could hear the guy tell me I got lucky and called me a bitch before telling me he wanted a rematch. Send me an invite, and a voice message after I ignored him. No idea what he said, but it probably wasn't flattering.

Second guy quit in the third after I went up 4-0. Nothing too intense yet. I've lost all but 1 of my HUT online games. Need to stay offline until I get a better team.

I've had terrible online experiences with HUT. Most of my opponents are either glitchers or crap talking little punks.

Sure I can mute the the punks, but it looks like the curve shot from the top circle glitch is back in full force.

Everyone acts so surprised by this. They completely dumped on the Online League aspects of the game where you put a league of friends together, just so they could go global with HUT. I blasted the team for this on their Blog. I predicted from day 1 whats going on right now...they didnt create some addictive hockey mode, they created Cheeseland. This is not my line, someone here at OS said it first but it's so very true.

This is the exact reason I won't play HUT. There's no way I'm going to lose my time playing against cheaters, glitchers, cheesers, etc.

One guy of EA, asked if there was friends league possible with HUT answered this : "No, we wanted the biggest league ever online and that's why we didn't put friends league in HUT possible."

Answer that seems to me as the same thing if Toyota would say : "We won't sell Yaris, Matrix and Corolla no more, we want to be the biggest seller of big cars in the world!"

Yeah right, so then, people who likes smaller car will look somewhere else. Just like HUT, instead of having a mode that appeal to more players, they are now getting less since there's a lot of people like me that don't want to lose the time they have (which isn't 24 hours a day) to play a game, if that's to face people cheating all over the place.

I really hope that EA realized that being big is one thing, and offering options that appeal to more people makes you even bigger!
