How can you argue balls/strikes or stuff like that with the umpire?

Do you need to press a certain button or it just randomly happens?

I've seen the computer get ejected for arguing calls but I would like to get into the fun too.

Sadly, human players have no control over this.

I usually yell at them while shaking my fist. Oh, you mean how do you get your players to argue in the game - yeah, can't do it.

MLB would never allow something like this

That is so stupid if you think about it cause when you watch a game on TV, you see it. Hell, I could even read Ian Kinsler's lips the other night and he said, " ****in' bull**** " before the ump ejected 'im.

Also, it was clearly a ball inside.

yeah you can do it, but it is frowned upon by all umps

It needs to be under player control. The NHL doesn't want fights to happen but it does and unless they took it out this year I have always been able to start the fight and actually control it. I just get put in the penalty box. I would love to be able to argue a call as a player and manager. Maybe not control the words or anything but how strong I argue it. If I go strong on some umps then I get kicked out but others will just ignore it. Just kind of say something light to one that isn't having a good day and I get kicked. Make it a nice risk reward kind of thing. It is already in the game but we have no control over it so it just makes you angry when it is out of your control. I got booted after arguing a call that I agreed with and it killed by 36 game hitting streak which just made me pack up the game for a few days.

If they don't want arguing with the umps then take it out all together and not even have the cut scene for it. I would much rather be able to come out and talk with the ump that may change the strike zone the next at bat. Maybe if you keep getting that way outside strike and argue it and are a rookie maybe it goes even more outside. Or the manager comes out and lightly says come on don't let the pitcher cheat the kid next time. Maybe the strike zone becomes a soup can.

I heard that MLB will begin allowing SCEA to implement this the same year they let Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame....

I really hate to be "that guy" but arguing calls was done pretty much perfectly in MVP. You couldn't do anything with the players, only managers, and you couldn't argue balls and strikes (which makes sense because IRL coming out to argue balls and strikes is an immediate ejection), but a well-timed argument was both fun and gave your team a boost of some sort.

I just recently switched to broadcast presentation in my season. Up until then, I was using realtime. Could that be the reason why I've never seen the CPU batters get ejected for arguing a called strike ?? I've never seen it.

Dude, I remember playing MVP 2005 online with my bro and you could actually get certain calls overturned after arguing.

I didn't like the idea though that you lost control of your team. Not being able to make roster moves was a pretty drastic pay off for getting your manager tossed.

If SCEA were to implement something similar, and I agree with you it was done nicely in MVP, I would like instead of losing the ability to make roster moves, your team takes an attributes hit of some kind. Much like, how a "successful" agrument gave your team a boost.

could be, since real-time doesn't have cutscenes. I have yet to see a batter be tossed for arguing balls and strikes in all the games I've played. Seen several get tossed for arguing at first base, but never balls and strikes.
