    Man D since updates.

My cpu controlled DB's and players are playing god awful man D since some of these updates have came out in my recent games. In two of my OD's CB's are just totally getting lost. I know there should be some separation on outs crosses and routes etc, but not like what I am seeing. My defenders are breaking way late behind receivers, usually as late as 2-3 seconds and sometimes no less than 10 ft behind the receiver on some patterns. If they receiver runs an out, my guy covering him continues towards the endzone for 10 steps sometimes before breaking off and heading back towards the player hes covering leaving huge throwing holes against the cpu.

While I know they have toned back man coverage in some of the newest updates is anyone seeing the drastic change I have mentioned in some of their games since the updates (against cpu most notably). I can't do anything on D against the pass anymore it seems and while one of my school being a 1* might have something to do with it I've seen this happen in my dynasty with a better team and my best corner too to beat everything.

Anyone else experiencing some of this?

Yes, they ruined man defense with the last patch. It got so bad for me, I have put ncaa 11 away and have only been playing madden 11 until they come out with another patch. The game is borderline unplayable if you play strictly man defense like I do.

I feel your pain. It's been so discouraging because you can only control one guy and if you take away one part of the field absurd DB play somewhere will leave a guy open for the cpu to find. If anyone has found some strategies to counter this please share...

This actually cost me a trip to the Nation Title in our online dynasty.

The patch came out right before the Big 12 Title game, and Nebraska came in and torched me. Their cpu receiver somehow beat my All-American corner on nearly every play despite only having an 84 in speed. smh I was highly pissed because I've never been beat that bad before. I lost by 3 TD's.

They never punted once during the game until late in the 4th quarter and it was over by then. They scored every time they had the football.

I've since tweaked my sliders again to make up for this, and I had an 81 FG kicker last night who easily hit two 55 yd + FG's against me in a game I lost.

I'm 0-5 this year in my 1* UL-Lafayette Dynasty in which I had moderate success last year. Granted they're not great but even in conference games against similar opponents I'm seeing this crap. The defense is horrendous after these teaks from EA.

I strickly play man and I am doing alright. Just work on your sliders and the game plays fine.

I play in Online dynastys where all slider tweaks are a community based thing is the only problem.

Oh ok, that makes sense then. In our OD, I am in the Commish, and I tell everyone to give me their input on what works and what doesn't, and we have come up with a good slider set for everyone to use. It is a little easy for me, but challenging for my room mate. Ask your Commish if he he/she is open to tweaking the sliders a bit to fix the problem.

                  Honestly?
You gotta put your pass defense at 90 to even have a shot at defending. My guys still get torched at times but you really see the defenders knocking down balls and goin after it. I even have Boykin from Georgia who has I believe 8 INTs in 8 games, 3 returned for TDs.

I will say that my pass D is about 113th in the nation still in passing yards allowed but it really doesn't feel that bad. There is some combination of me not having a bye yet and I'm usually up by a good amount and I sub in my second team. The QB takes advantage and gets like 75 yards worth of garbage time.

I thought man D worked great in this game. Good corners can shut you down but bad ones are well bad. my 2nd corner for Miami is a 78 OVR with low speed but good hands. He is hard to beat on short routes but if they run slants against him i give up big plays all game.

Man D was kind of a crutch and EA looked to tone it down a little bit with these last updates but (as always) they overshot it a little bit and went to far the other way to compensate IMO.

It seems to me like it's gone down. Before patch 3, when playing an FCS team in my dynasty, they would only manage one or two first downs per game. Now, with no changes in playcalling on my part, they put up 7 to 14 points per game, and it all comes through the air.

I recommend before your games begin, go to your depth chart and memorize the strengths of your CB's. Then make calls based on there strengths. I just played Louisville vs Oregon St against my brother; looked at my D's strengths and made strategic calls stopped him plenty of times and won.

So my advice in one sentence, learn your defenses strengths and weaknesses. Good luck.

                            What difficulty?

In all honesty I find the updates to man on all American more realistic. I was getting sick of shutting Dow A offenses with C defenses, and the high number of picks.

Now bad corners have a hard time in man vs good receivers and you have to rely on zone if you don't have talent. Gone are the days of trying to man up a rb out of the backfield when the CPU runs 5 wide wit a lb.

You have to pay attention to your personnel now and formations.

In all honesty, I think everyone got used to the games overpowered man defense that they got lazy with their play calling and attention to personnel.

That is pretty much what it seems like to me. I think the Man D is pretty good after the patch. You just have to watch who you match up against.
