    Heisman Talk

Who do ya'll think is gonna win the Heisman as of right now. I know it's early, but I guess we can use this thread to discuss Heisman canidates as the season goes on.
    My Teams:
    NCAA FB-Oregon Ducks
    NCAA BB-Gonzaga Bulldogs
    NBA-Portland Trail Blazers
    NFL-Carolina Panthers
    MLB-San Francisco Giants
    NHL-Los Angeles Kings
Won't change this signature until Oregon wins a national championship (started 3/10/10)

If the Heisman were today, and yes it's early, not giving it to Denard Robinson would be criminal.

Agreed, but in the long run I don't know if Denard can keep up these kinds of crazy performances, or run so much without getting hurt. Outside of Robinson, I can't really think of anyone who'd really deserve the Heisman as of now.

We all know that the Heisman winner will be the best player on the best team. With that said.....if Ohio State goes undefeated, its going to be hard not to give it to Terrelle Pryor. I dont think Ingram has a chance at repeating with Richardson splitting the carries. Unless Ingram rips through the SEC averaging 150 yards+

For once, I agree with Mass here.

If it actually went to the best player who makes the biggest difference and is a perfect example of an leader with exp, then you know who i'm going submit.

But in reality it's either be Ingram, Pryor, or Mallet (ugh.)

If LSU would get PP7 touches on the offensive side of the ball the way Michigan did with Charles Woodson then he could have a legit chance at the Heisman.

I know, and Miles has got to have that tucked in his hat for some late-season game (i'm thinking Ole Miss/Arky). The problem is, he's not only playing D, He's also doing special teams. And his issues with cramps have been a thorn in his side since his sophomore year in HS.

That's what took him out on the game winning screen to Julio Jones last year right?

yup. But don't let the bammers hear that. They like to think Lord Julio scored on LSU's finest, when it was really a guy who still disappoints.

The only heisman talk is Robinson at this point despite his marquis victory being over a 1-2 ND team with a concussed QB and a UConn team that was destroyed by Temple. I think you are going to start seeing people hack up the Blueberry Koolaid and Yellow cornbread at soon as B10 play starts. But as of right now, he has the numbers.

Yeah but we are talking about as of right now. Right now nobody that would be in the topic has played any real threats. As far as the numbers and impact on the game goes Robinson is far and away the pick right now. If it wasn't for Robinson Michigan could very well be looking at 0-3 instead of 3-0.

As far as the three guys you listed Ingram has only played half of a game against a horrible Duke team. Pryor has racked up his numbers against two scrubs and hasn't looked anywhere near as impressive as Robinson. Mallett has only faced one real team in GA and again is numbers and performance haven't matched up to Robinson.

Who knows what the rest of the season will hold but as of right now Robinson has been the most outstanding player so far.

                          Re: Heisman Talk

It's way too early, especially with most of the hyped OoC games being duds.

I think Ingram is out because of the voters not wanting to give 2 Heismans plus missing 2 OoC games of stats and their last OoC game falls right before Auburn against a team playing their first year of football ever so I doubt he plays there. He'll essentially have 8-9 games of SEC play and maybe 1 game of OoC total.

I'm not completely sold on Robinson since he hasn't played a team that is even close to good, and if Alabama goes undefeated I think you'll see Troy Smith comparisons arising for Prior.

I think this is a year where a 3-4 loss player will take the award much like in 2007.

It's also what almost had LSU give up that last second TD against UNC, he was off the field for the last 3-4 plays.
