I must say I have wanted this ability for years with soccer games, and FIFA 11 finally delivers. It may seem like a small thing, but brings more authenticity to the game in my opinion. My favorite is triangle net with tight tension.

Agreed - I think its a great 'little touch' that just adds to the realism. Sounds in general, from the ball hitting the post to the ball hitting the back of the net at different speeds, is much improved.

Can't wait for this release...getting tired of 3 minute halves

I turned this on and saw one the first game, a penalty kick too. I watched the replay and it looked absolutely fantastic... My defender was sliding and put his arm out, and the ball clearly hit his hand.

A pretty cool feature.

In the demo? How did I miss this stuff?

Normally I'm all over the settings options looking for nuggets. I saw the new switching options, including (the name of it escapes me) to have a brief period of CPU assistance after the switch so your player doesn't stop moving when you take control.

As great is it is to FINALLY have handballs in the game, they really need to be improved. There is no discretion when calling handballs. ANYTHING that touches an arm/hand is called regardless of the situation.

Actually, this isn't the first time handballs were in a FIFA game. FIFA 06: Road to the World Cup (exclusive on 360) had handballs. EA had years to work on this aspect of the game and improve it, but haven't even looked at it since 2005/2006. Anytime it was brought up, they always responded with something like, "We don't want something in the game that people have no control over, bla bla bla bla." So after 4-5 years, they could've figured something out for handballs, right???

Anyway, I was simply making a statement. I've been one of the people crying for handballs to be in the game for years now. If you dug up some old OS/FIFA threads I'm sure you'd see me bringing it up repeatedly, years ago.

Seems to me they could easily add this too, like by simply taking into consideration the speed of the ball and the distance from the defender... So that short, hard shots and passes turned into non calls.
