NBA Elite 11 Hook Shot Glitch

So I found this glitch screwing around in the practice mode. Basically, the hook shot has an automatic release, meaning that if you hold the right stick up, at a certain point you will shoot the ball, unlike a normal jump shot. So for anyone with a decent outside shooting rating, it will release automatically in the correct spot, meaning you only have to get the aim part right, and not the power. This is a serious problem, especially against a CPU defender, since it cannot be blocked by the CPU.

Oh wow, and I thought it was bad enough making every hook shot I attempted with a big man down low...

This must be patched, and if it isn't I'm hoping for the impossible: everyone plays with integrity...yea never going to happen.

It's skilled based. In previous games shooting was based on luck. Man this game is obviously broken, unfinished, and I'm now questioning if it should even be released.

I wonder if they can even patch this with the way the shooting mechanics are implemented. He even hit one left handed. The cheese has already started. That was crazy.

Now that I think about it, is this really a glitch?

Based on the games logic....even though it has a lower success rate, shouldnt this go in as along as hes mastered the release?

It's not a glitch, they've just tuned it incorrectly. Your sweet spot for aim and power changes all over the court. The problem is, it should be different for different types of shots (it may already be, but it doesn't seem so).

EG. to hit a hook shot from the 3pt line should b tuned to be much harder than a jumpshot.

The hookshot sweet spots should be on a much steeper difficulty the further you get away from the basket. You can see in the video posted what the sweet spot looks like for the created player when he's in the practice gym. Obviously needs to be tuned to be harder. I'd imagine this would be an easy fix for the devs to patch.

Well, I'm glad you found this now. I hope a simple dna update can fix this. May need to be patched though.
