Need a tip on tackling
 

I use the no switch rule on defense, and i keep noticing that when i try to get in on a tackle, as the 3rd defender, my player seems to deflect away from the ball carrier. Is this the norm? or am I doing something wrong?

I'm sad to say this, but yes, this is the norm.

The game will deflect you off the tackle, no matter what how you approach it. This issue has been in the game for several years, and have been mentioned as one of the main aspects of the game that the OS community wants fixed for future Maddens.

yeah, it would be nice if you could manually engage in gang tackles, or try to strip the ball, but no such luck this year.

usually I'll take control of somebody else and strafe a bit backwards, just in case the ball carrier breaks the tackles...

Thanks very much for confirming what I thought. Maybe one year EA will figure out how to allow user control players to gang tackle.
