Really, this should be the question EVERYONE should be asking.

If you are playing Video Games, then yes, this game will have a high amount of turnovers, deflected passes, and low shooting % numbers.

If you are playing basketball, then you are enjoying the strategy and mind games of playing basketball.

I agree. I was up big in a game because i was playing basketball. I ended up losing focus and the game because i got into video game mode...........still pissed about that loss

I feel like I am playing real basketball really really really close to the feeling on watching or playing a real basketball game myself INSIDE a video game!

@ the title (WIN). Given the impressions, and some (not all of course) of the most common complaints levied towards the game, I thinks its obvious which ones are playing basketball, and which ones are playing video games.

To answer the thread question, in myplayer I am definitely playing videogames, lol. I'm all about the "check my stats"

In association I am playing pure basketball and love it. Going from playing this game to watching a real life broadcast really shows how great this game is.

Great topic name... I'm playing basketball and loving it. It's very easy to see just how many people are playing video games based on the type of topics and the frequency of them being created. Some people just don't get it.

playing basketball.. if u see a ton of ppl complain about losing n turnovers.. those are da ppl playing video games.. in order to be successful in this game u better be playing basketball.. otherwise get usd to da lottery every year.. lol..

Im 25 and started playing video games in the early 90's. But belive it or not I did not play a lot of video games over the last decade but in 2009 I bought my first 360 and played madden online and have been hooked ever sense. I have played madden like a hardcore addict sense 2009 because I love the game and never played online before. But back to my point, Im already a level 16 in madden and win about 75% of my games, but I just picked up 2k11 on launch night at midnight, and its the first new basketball game i have bought in over 5 years. Anyways..... I was really good at basketball, better then football so this is my first year playing a online basketball game, but I think Im gonna do better in basketball because i have a mind for it and I love team ball and spreading it around. I cant belive im saying this because ive been playing madden sense 92 and i only like sports games, but i might move on to become a NBA online player, tuff thing is I only roll with my fav teams. In football it works out because I'm a cowboys fan, In basketball im rolling with.....drum rolll................. THE NEW YORK KNICKS hahahahaha. anyways in closing I am gonna be playing team ball and dishing it and playing real basketball

I have very litte idea about basketball strategies, how plays are set up, positioning etc...so I am playing video games and this game is hard!

I don't really know how to learn about the sport either. I am a casual fan, I have no idea what the on the fly strategies mean, when to employ them and so forth.

I think 2k11 is a stellar presentation of the sport and a bball lovers dream, even for me its a fantastic video game. I am very glad I have sliders to make up for what I lack.

So far, I have just been playing quick play games. Lats year I played as the Cavs because of Lebron but I don't want to follow him to Miami. The teams I like in the game are pretty average (Pacers, Suns, Nets, Cavs). Makes playing this video game as a video game really difficult to get some success , but I am enjoying it.

I am a hockey fan but love most sports. NHL 11 is my staple gaming fare at the moment. With 2k11, I just have to settle on some sliders and a quater length that works for me and then I have to choose a team that has some chance but won't blow teams out of the building each night.

I will never play this online, have no interest. I think My Player is the best of the be a pro and rise to the top type game modes of any sports titile going (much better than Be a Pro in EA's NHL games). Perhaps to work through my learning curve I might just take control of all 30 teams and just play different games during the season, maybe even change teams at each quater break.

I am without a doubt playing 2k11 as a video game, if I knew more about bball I am sure it would help. I much prefer sports titles to play more sim oriented than arcade but again, I am glad there are sliders

Ratings actually matter this year, like you could ignore the 'passing' rating before but not this year, if you want less turnovers make sure your PG has a high pass rating, if not the whole team.
