Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
Prepared for some good wins and some bad losses and an average season.
Ryan Harrow/Javi Gonzo
Scott Wood/Lorenzo Brown
CJ Leslie/CJ Williams
Deshawn Painter/Richard Howell
Tracy Smith/Vandenburg
We don't exactly have size. And I'm not looking forward to Lowe completely misusing Harrow. Best offensive lineup would prob be moving Leslie to PF and Wood some run at SF letting Brown get on the floor. Young team.Comment

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
They already said that they would use Painter as the 5, Tracy would be completely undersized there. Plus, if they did play Painter at the 4, he wouldn't start. Nor do I think Harrow starts, at least early on.Prepared for some good wins and some bad losses and an average season.

Bring side, all of Sendek's players are finally gone. I can see Lowe trying to run more, and I think CJ Leslie will be a beast in that style of offense.Comment

Gonna miss JT Thompsons energy this year, as well as the inside presence Allen Chaney could have brought.
But I still think my Hokies have a good offensive year left in emComment

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
I have no idea who is going to put the ball in the hoop for Virginia this season.
We'll play good defense as Tony Bennett can teach that side of the ball really well, but nevertheless my expectations for this year having lost Sylven Landesberg (went pro), Jerome Meyinsse (graduation), and Jeff Jones (transfer to Rider) are not particularly high.Comment

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
Duke is the clear number 1 in the ACC, and probably the country this year. Unfortunately.
Freshmen going to play a major role in the ACC this season:
Kyrie Irving
Harrison Barnes
Kendall Marshall
Reggie Bullock
CJ Leslie
Lorenzo Brown
Ryan Harrow
and thats just on Tobacco RdComment

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
They will be better this year, but it depends on how well the young players grew up during the summer. Probably middle of the pack again.
Duke will be 1 and then probably a group of 6-7 teams separated by 3 games.Comment

I hear that freshmen K.T. Harrell (guard) and James Johnson (forward / center) are going to get major playing time for the Hoos.Duke is the clear number 1 in the ACC, and probably the country this year. Unfortunately.

I have no idea if either are any good; I like to play dumb with regard to recruits and evaluate them based on what I see in person, rather than what recruiting websites tell me.Comment

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
Should be an interesting year on Chapel Hill. Coming into this year way overrated for a 17 win team last year. 9th in the Country is just way too high. The only way we reach that kind of ranking at the end of the season is if Harrison Barnes exceeds all expectations. Which will be hard as Roy has never been known to give his wing players the green light at all times like he gives his bigs.
The success of the years team will rely on rather we can get any kind of production from our weak front court both on the offensive and defensive end. Henson and Zeller will have to stay healthy and out of foul trouble in order for us to have any kind of chance in ACC play.
The back court will definitely be our strength as long as Larry Drew can limit his turnovers which he better because Kendall Marshall will be patiently waiting this season. Drew won't be able to play without fear of being yanked as we have a true backup point guard this season. Strickland is much better at the 2 where he should be starting this year.
Hopefully somebody from this team steps up to some kind of leadership role or this could very easily be a repeat of last year. Maybe not to the extent as last campaign but not up to UNC standards."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

Re: 2010-2011 ACC Basketball Thread
I can't watch anything in regards to Dook. Makes me physically sick.
Barnes has to step up. If not, I am worried. Surprised that Drew didn't transfer, happy that he is going to come back. Hopefully, the warranted criticism he received lit a fire underneath him during the offseason.Should be an interesting year on Chapel Hill.
