Just can't enjoy My player anymore.

I'm playing with a shooting guard and its just not fun not being able to have the cpu run plays. Its just 1on1 ball and its just boring now. I got drafted to the heat and where 13-12 because Wade and Lebron just hold the ball until the clock runs down and jack up 3's most of the game. Its just fustrating. I'll jump back in once they patch it. If they do.

I agree 100%. This especially comes true in the Create a Legend mode, however you can call plays as a SG but the CPU won't call them and then show you the diagrams.

Even if you did wait until the patch came, Your myplayer will remain the same, due to the fact that it was saved over the pre patch mainframe... I wouldn't have been a shooting guard for the heat in the first place... That's Wades job all day, though the game automatically puts him a point...

I would just set picks, and run to the open spots on the court... Is your dude Athletic, 3pt, scorer?

The more you play the better it gets... Get your team chemistry up to 50% and you will be able to start callin plays on the floor... Your lil insider dude will let you know when you can...

Agree. I set myself as a PG, and even then in games I'll get subbed in for 70% of the game as a SG. I basically just stand around on offense.

Did you guys know that after around 30 games or so you can be elected floor general and unlock the ability to call plays?
Happened to my friend at PF

If your PG is a scorer, chances are he is a PG/SG combo. My created player is a pass first PG and he never get sub as a SG.


My Player mode is more enjoyable in PC version. Using tSearch, you can unlock the play vision, the ability to call plays early, and be able to adjust the sliders. Now my AI teammates is just as good as the opponent AI. My AI teammates will now actually attempt to block shooters and dominant big men are actually dominant in the paint. And they don't get outrebounded anymore like in default. It is very important for 2K to understand that we need the ability to adjust the sliders on the My Player mode.

Also guys... in order to call plays, you gotta get your team chemistry to about 50% or so... and the lil insider dude tells you you can call plays...

Another thing that I noticed before I could call plays, is that I can tell a player to cut...

Hit the lb or L1 depending on the system... don't hold it, because it will send a pick... but tapping it brings up the icons... tap the icon you want, and flick the right stick in what ever direction you want that player to go, and do what you will from there...

Its not exactly running plays, and may be a bit unrealistic but I usually take the initiative of setting on ball screens or off ball screens. It helps with your player grade and it seems to make my teammates move around quite a bit more.

now that I know I might get special "abilities" if I keep playing it makes me want to keep at it.....cause like the OP, I got bored with this mode fast!!!

plus, I was drafted by the Wizards first(we had a 6-3 record), and decided to ask for a trade just to see what would happen and got traded to a 1-11 Raptors team that is horrible!!! lol

I don't know if it works on My Player mode, never tested yet.
But go to MenunotinsideMyPlayermodeok > Options > My NBA Settings > Coach Settings and set the Playcall Messages to User Plays Only or Show All.

Never tested it, though.

There is no "Coach Settings" menu inside the My Player mode (and also Jordan: Create a Legend mode). It was in 2k10, which just baffles me why they removed it for 2k11, it just totally sucks running around as a centre with no purpose and not knowing the correct position to be.

really? i've been through about 35 games and that hasn't happened for me yet.
