THE "BIG 3 ASSOCIATION ROSTER PROJECT"

WE ARE WORKING ON A ROSTER FOR 360 & AN "ASSOCIATION-IN-PROGRESS" FILE THAT IMPLEMENTS ALL OF THE WORK OF ALL THE EXPERTS & IS MADE FOR THE "SIM-HEAD ASSOCIATION" JUNKIES.

WE ARE FINE TUNING RIGHT NOW & THE ROSTER WILL COMPLETE SOON

THE FILES WILL NOW BE CALLED:
    "THE DYNASTY ROSTER PROJECT"
    &
    "THE DYNASTY ASSOCIATION EXPERIENCE"

the name change is due to the Allstar lineup that we have had working on the file:
    (nogster, ronyell, BroMontana82, Serra11, colt18 & gottibino)

there will be a roster file with injuries & a roster without injuries.

we will also be posting an "association-in-progress" file after the association patch drops, which will be the roster file put into an association file with all of the proper rotations, player roles edited, correctly traded draft picks, real d-league players, edited draft class, league news & "real life" unhappy players (example: Carmelo Anthony), current injuries & all of the instructions that you remember from previous "BiG 3" & "YeLLz association experience" files.

we will keep our progress updated here until finished. we are not wanting to release until the association patch is released. we may go ahead release at least the roster file when finished but will definitely not be releasing the association file until the patch drops. thanks to all who have helped.

correct. i didn't see this thread but i was updating an older one. i'm about 60% done with potential / hustle loosely based on DC's scale and last year's ratings. these will have to be looked at as i am by no means a roster edit expert.

How much different is your potential scale compared to what I did?
I changed up potential to improve it too.
I would assume it would be a similar scale to DC.

It's an important rating for Asso.
Sooner or later we will have to discuss about it.

Are you gonna use any spreadsheet or word file to keep all things under control ? ... not that you cant without it, but its a very usefull tool for both, your project and us (the PS3/PC community)

i didn't know you re-rated POT but going through the roster, i have been changing them significantly to be more in line with DC's scale. they'll all be in multiples of 5 too. most are close or on point with the ratings he had last year (i found that spreadsheet). like i said in other posts, by no means am i an expert so someone will have to take a rough look at them afterwards. i can't tell you why i made a rookie 60 instead of 55 for example. but in the end, even these general changes will be a lot more in line with DC's scale.

unfortunately i don't this year for nogsters ratings. only things like dunk edits and POT / Hustle.

Re: THE "BIG 3 ASSOCIATION ROSTER PROJECT"

My personal take on potential rating (for what it is worth):

From my 2k10 experience (have yet to test it on 2k11), a 5 pts differential in the potential rating does not has a significant effect on the value of players with similar ratings ... for example, take: Nowitski - Boozer.

They are both rated around 84-85 and might be (dont recall DC scale) around a 5 pts potential differential. If you attempt to trade them it would be accepted, thus everyone knows that no GM would value Carlos over Dirk. Therefor, a 10 pts differential might be considered.

                      My altered scale:
                      25 No NBA talent
35 DLeague or Must have been already retired (T. Ratliff)
45 Commun rookies & Bench Warmer & Role players (D. Gibson)
55 Commun Starters & Relevant Rookies & Relevant Bench Players (R. Jefferson)
65 Excellent Rookies & Relevant Starters & Excellent Bench Players (Boozer)
75 All Stars & Past their Prime Frachise Types (Nowitski)
85 Franchise types & Multiple All Stars (D. Rose)
                      95 Unique Talents (Durant)
                      * Exceptions are prevalent, and more than a few.

Granted, is less flexible than DCs and ultimatelly it is not perfect, in fact has to be coupled with the alteration of some player roles and coaches preferences.

The progression seems hard coded and related to age, playing time and production ... it seems like it does not contemplate the potential rating at all, which then turns into solely a player trade valuing rating.

so you're basing this off of the bug, glitch, whatever in this year's game where POT is really related to trade value rather than progression correct? We sort of went into this guessing 2k would address this. If not, and POT indeed turns out to be for trades only...we will have to go back and make edits again. i believe DCs old scale was for geared towards progression as I look at your take. i like your thinking though. i guess we will see and figure it out. for now, i'm just adjusting everything. the edits will be more accurate than the default 2k implements either way.

edit: also, most potential / hustle ratings are done. just need to do all FAs with last name starting with B-Z.

Well, we should be good with the potential rating issue being addressed in the eventual patch. That means a lower scale like DCs last year should be good.

Most of the key edits are done at this point. We need to finish adding all the CAPs, do all up-to-date transactions, comb over some ratings, see if Nogster can take a quick look maybe, then the rest is really add on stuff like Shoes. Hopefully we can get EVERYTHING done before the patch drops.
