2K11 Announcer Atmosphere vs Real Life NBA Atmosphere

When the Celtics played the Heat on Tuesday Marv and the Czar called Glen Davis "Big Baby" throughout the game. But in 2K11 there's a "personal story" segment in which they mention Glen doesn't want to be called Big Baby.

In that case, by trying hard to sound realistic 2K11 now sounds unrealistic because in real life there's not a peep about Davis wanting announcers to call him something else.

The issue is that now all year, and in Association forever, the 2K11 crew will talk about "Big Baby" not wanting to be called Big Baby.

Has anyone heard any other examples now that the real life NBA has begun?

Another example is new lighter uniforms being touted during commercial breaks (in online coverage) and by announcers (in the real NBA). Not a peep on that in 2K11. However, they do mention Amare's under uni padding during Knicks games, so they picked up realism points there.

I've found several articles from 2010, mentioning that Davis doesn't want to be called Big Baby.

As for Marv Albert...the guy still lives in the 90's, and thinks he's still in his prime. Don't pay attention to him...

Ha, it's not that cool anymore when he says it. And Marv Albert is really annoying these days, in my opinion. I'm so thankful we have Harlan, who's 100 times better.

I met Marv once but didn't know it was him until someone pointed out that it was him. It was in a gym. Marv wasn't wearing his hair.

                No, two points:

                1. Davis not wanting to be called Big Baby isn't as big a deal as it sounds in 2K11. That's minor, when they mention it.

                2. In an association, in 2015, when it's a Knicks game in 2K11 they'll say the same thing. If it's a Knicks franchise someone is playing, they'll likely hear that little segment twice a game for the whole season, every season.

I noticed that Glen "Big Baby" Davis' Twitter account(official) is under the name "iambigbaby11". Seeing this, I'm pretty sure he is cool with people calling him Big Baby.

Here's another one. In game one of create a legend the announcers talk about Jordan's first game on an NBA floor. It's a dream come true for him, they say. It's followed by a discussion about Jordan already having proven himself in the NBA as a skilled player with great physical attributes.

How can Jordan have proven himself when his first NBA game has just begun?

Maybe he was the best player to ever play a pre-season game?

In a post-game interview last night, Doc Rivers referred to Davis as "Baby", so he still does carry the nickname, though he doesn't like it.

It is a little annoying hearing the same stories get repeated game after game, but I'm still happy with them being there. And like someone else said, did you really expect them to say the same exact things?

Wow... If THIS is the point we've reached as far as 2K11 game discussions, that tells me that this game is darned good.
