Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
I'm noticing in a lot of replays that the cpu teams are able to throw bounce passes all the time to cutters to the basket. When I throw the pass its a lob or straight pass to the player but never a bounce pass. If there is a way to throw it on the fly I would love to know how to do this. Any help would be great thanks!

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
I believe it's LT and pass button...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
Yes, but from my experience it's totally random. I never hold LT+X and have seen the bounce pass a few times. Yesterday I threw a pass to Kirilenko, held the turbo and shot stick towards rim for a dunk, and he ended up wrapping the ball around himself before slamming it. I think a lot of these animations are just random.Comment

The user has no control over the types of passes they want to make. The CPU makes the choice for you.Comment

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
If 2K would just make passing like Madden or College Football where you tab the X button and you get a lob pass you hold it down you get a bullet pass. You hold down the LT button with the player ICON and every position represents a button (ie. (1) X, (2) [], (3) tri, (4) L1, (5) L2. Unless its like that now, but I thought you had to click the icon button chose the player then lead pass. Too much just to pass the ball to a player. Lead passing on the fly is the way to go in basketball. It just takes too much time to lead pass like I said unless I'm doing something wrong. Please help if that is the case.
Thanks!

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
I agree. I've never seen a bounce pass thrown from my player. I was thinking the same thing earlier. It's a big issue, and it's frustrating when you see the computer do it on their breakaways.
Unless there's a way to control it, I don't know.Comment

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
I think its random, but it may be tied to the "throws flashy passes" slider - will have to do some testing.
As nash I threw a perfect bounce pass between 3 defenders on the break for an easy dunk. Other times where a bounce pass makes perfect sense, you'll end up throwing a stupid overhead pass that gets picked off.
The ratio of overhead/one handed baseball passes to chest/bounce passes is way off.Comment

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
This is true. I'd have no problem with not having the ability to control what type of pass I throw, as long as the computer threw the correct pass for me. This is most apparent on fast breaks. There are certain passing angles that would be automatic in real games but are too risky in 2K11 due to the high chance that your man will attempt a chest pass through a guy's arms in lieu of a bounce pass out of their reach.Comment

Re: Have you ever thrown a bounce pass...
My post before was on something that happen while my friend and I were horsing around in freestyle practice mode. For some reason I still can't confirm. And I didn't want to share until I tired it again. Was that if I pressed L2 and R2 while passing. He would attempt a fancy pass or bounce pass. Like I said I can't confirm because we were just playing around and don't really remember what buttons I was pressing (was drunk lol)Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
