Roster Update Observation - Something to Consider

There's something we're all missing here and I think we should take this into consideration......

Under the "My Online" section of the game menu, then under "Download Rosters" there is nothing there.
Perhaps the roster we are all seeing is not the actual roster download we are all waiting for but just another one of those online updates.

I am in no way trying to defend EA if this is indeed the official update but I find it hard to believe that so many players could be missing/misplaced/misguided whatever.
Why would any company officially release an update that would appear to be so lackluster?
I would like to think that a company whose catch phrase is "It's in the game" would take a little more pride in making sure the first official update was as correct as it could be.

    Just my observation.

The prevous update is available as long as you don't save over it.
Not sure if you get what my initial post meant though.

So far there have been, to my knowledge, 4 online updates. Not sure of their purpose as I don't play online. But I do go online to get whatever updates they have made to the rosters. None so far have been prefect, probably not even close.
Obviously these updates are not considered "official roster updates" that we can download from the "download roster" section of the "my online" menu.
My thinking is until there is an update in that section, we are not seeing the official updated rosters.

I agree with the OP. While there is nothing in the official roster update section, I have hope this was not the proper one.

Nice observation but sadly, I think this IS the roster update. If you look on many of the rosters, there are players you previously had to create that appear on NHL rosters and such. They even fixed minor things like its now Magnus Paajarvi and some pads have been fixed and such. Just what I've noticed, I may be wrong...but I'm glad I manually updated my rosters and I'll probably continue doing that.

The way some bag on EA, I'm amazed they continue to buy their products every year. From Madden to NHL, there's those that consider EASports nothing but screw ups, yet they buy every year. Kind of like the person that won't leave a relationship they are obviously unhappy in. People baffle me

I think they buy EA products just so they have something to complain about.

Maybe. I know they have issues year in and year out and there are legitimate gripes. I just don't see completely shredding the developers and such as the way to go about voicing those gripes. Just how I veiw things is all.

We buy EA products because they happen to be the best sports games available (and in the case of this year, the ONLY).

Some of us don't have fun playing other types of games.

But, unfortunately, this *IS* the roster update. It came out when the EA Twitter feed said it would on the date we expect it to drop.

EA really dropped the ball. They're going to blame it on something, but there really is no excuse. EA needs to become more customer-centric.

Not gonna defend the latest update, but if you ask me, EA has stepped up the level of support for their sports titles ten fold the last few years. It may not always be as timely and accurate as we would like, but sports gamers are an awfully demanding bunch. I can definately remember a time when they were much less considerate of their customers.

Re: Roster Update Observation - Something to Consider

In regards to the comment about Ea Sports games being the "best" games around, I would tend to disagree that comment.

Lets take, for example, NCAA Basketball. 2K hasn't made a college hoops game since CH 2K8. There is a cult following behind that game. People still play it, and regularly update to this day.

EA has since scrapped its NCAA Basketball franchise.

The same can also be said for the 2K hockey franchise.

It might not be at the same level in certain aspects, as EA, but there are still plenty of people who still play NHL 2K8 to this day!

In terms of recent hockey games, I felt that, even thought a little unpolished in some areas, NHL 2K10 was a fantastic game. Plus you still have the 2K Share option, that EA hockey games are sorely lacking in my opinion.

In closing on that argument, EA makes a great product. But its not the best product out there.

In regards to EA being the only product available, to anyone that owns a Wii, that is a whole different argument.

No I'm not Capone. I did sit one row behind him at a hockey game this past Saturday night though.
