Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
*raises hand*
mine is currently playing the 2022 season. He's already amassed season records in HRs, RBIs, Hits, and Runs...at age 29-30.
he's past 600 HRs and is a 40/40 clubber for the past 5 or 6 seasons. Shattered the single season HR record with an inhuman 104 HRs in 2021, prior to that he hit 82 in 2018, 68 in 2019 and 87 in 2020. Well on his way to shattering Alex Rodriguez's (BOO!) career HR record of 806.
Single season record holder for hits, with 391, only 9 short of 400. career batting average of .444.
*note: I play the game for fun, not realism, hence the massive record shattering. -

I just got my ps3 and the show back in october. This is by far my favorite mode. I am working on being a closer. I was orginally drafted by the Braves but was part of a package deal and was sent to the Rays so the Braves could aquire David Price.

Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
I'm in the year 2033 with my SP and I have started every game of my career (no simming). I have 340+ wins, 5 championships, 5 Cy Young awards, 2 MVPs, and I think 17 straight All-Star appearances. This game is awesome.Comment

Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
im a rtts junky. i used to think the exact same thing. there are rtts flaws, but nothing i would consider game breaking to the point where i refuse to play.
alot of things i thought were bad was due to me playing poorly, once i changed and started to understand baseball more, the less i started seeing these issues.Comment

Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
well I have quite a many gripes about the game, most having to do with realism, but since we are talking about RTTS Ill stick with those.
-unrealistic goals such as the hit and run, not being promoted based on stats performance and only on certain goals, OR being the best player on your team for a year or two and then being sent to the minors with either no warning or because some utility player came off the DL
-starting out completely terrible in all ratings, realistically no player can go from a 50 arm to a 99 arm or a 65 speed to 99 speed you may develop some strength and speed but no player will have that big of a jump
-related to the above, the stupid managerial logic, sending said 65 speed player to steal 2nd almost every time he gets on base.
-being traded up to 6 times in one season
-having some of the interactions never work, I mean if they are programed to work zero times why have them?
thats all I can thing of for now, if I remember some more I will add them. I dont see the point of paying 60 more bucks for essentially the same game we have been playing for the past 2 years.Comment

totally agree with that, the team having poor chemistry is the worst out of the bunch of them. Second is the position change one.well I have quite a many gripes about the game, most having to do with realism, but since we are talking about RTTS Ill stick with those.

if your team has won only 5 out of 30 games and you use the poor chemistry interaction you STILL get rejected by the manager. apparently losing or not, the chemistry is ALWAYS fine.
the position change one should allow you to change positions before a season starts, even if you are top ranked in your current position. Players change over time and realize that they get slower (the good ones at least, not Jeter/A-Rod, they just want money) and may want to switch from CF to LF or SS/2B to 1B/3B or from C to 1B/OF. Its how baseball works, even when my ratings were the worst on a team, i was unable to change my position because i was still the best rated person in that position.Comment

Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
The chemistry interaction "worked" for me once, the manager said something like "Thanks for being a leader and letting me know." But I have no idea what actual benefit that gave me, as nothing seemed to change because of it.Comment

Re: Who are the RTTS fanatics?
RTTS is the only mode I play in this game. 09 is the most recent game that I have and play. In that, I have a CF that was drafted by the Dodgers, got traded to Toronto, then has wound up in Minnesota. I am in the 4th year of that one, got called up to Rochester recently. I've been working on hitting and power when I get done with the attribute goals that they set for me. When those get to acceptable levels, I'm going to work on speed next. Speaking of speed... Is there a slider setting that I need to modify in 09 on the PS2 in order to successfully steal with my 6'10" RTTS player with at least a 70% success rate?Comment
