Might be done with this game
i think i might be done with this game. it is just too hard. the isomotion is impossible for me to do. when there is a fastbreak the cpu is always fast enough to stop it. ive been reading other posts and alot of you are saying to call plays and whenever i do the computer always breaks them up. i play on the purest pro sliders, broadcast view. would the 2k give me a better playing experience. any last suggestions before i just keep playing black ops and return this game?? thanks in advanceTags: None -
Re: Might be done with this game
I would suggest that you just play a little more under control...I believe the simplest most effective way to incorporate iso motion is to only use crossovers when on the break and in the half court I like to come to a complete stop while dribbling the ball hold down the left trigger and get a little bit of the iso motion going until I can judge the defenders reaction to them and once I come out of it my guy usually does a nice move. -
Re: Might be done with this game
I kind of agree with the OP about the isomotion. It's way too hard this year, along with the post moves. It's not a game killer but I just want to play a sim sports game and not have to worry about memorizing all sorts of controls to get the full effect of the game. It seems like there's so many moves I'll never see because I'm not that savy with the controls. I can't even do a basic spin move...it's pretty annoying.Comment

Re: Might be done with this game
it seems like no matter what i do the defense always recovers in time. also when i do get a chance to try to do a layup/dunk the player just stops and takes a jumpshot. i dont know how you guys do it. who ever is good at this game you got skills.Comment

Re: Might be done with this game
I'd say keep at it. Its my first 2K game and I cant beat the elite teams yet. But it will feel really good when i do. Its only been out for a month. Ive got all season to improve along the way and get to the Playoffs in my Assoc. All 83 games 12 min.Comment

Re: Might be done with this game
the only thing i'm really tired of, and has caused me to stop playing, is the ridiculous "bump" animations. It's so cheesy and unrealistic, and makes players like CP3 and Deron useless because when you call a pick and want to skim the pick setter's shoulders and get close, you get sucked into the defender that's nearby.
If a Dampier style player is guarding a Rondo, you should be able to drive right by him, even if you make contact or head towards him. In this game, you have to take a super long route and stay 10 feet away from the defender in order to blow by anyone.
There's so many times when I get stuck in 3 or 4 consecutive "bump back" animations when I'm a speedster and have a mismatch with a lumbering player guarding me. It's ridiculous.Comment

I don't know what they're called, but do you use the moves where you're standing still and hold LT down and press the thumbstick in a direction where they basically set the defender up? Monta Ellis can blow by even the quickest of defenders in this game with one of those moves. When I get a big guy on my PG or SG, I use a set-up move and then take off and if the defender over compensates I hit him with a crossover and then go for the dunk or pull-up. Works like a charm. Deron Williams is incredible in this game. I can't even use him anymore because it's just unfair when I play online or offline with him. His jumper is so easy to time and he's just so good at beating his man and pulling up or attacking the rim.the only thing i'm really tired of, and has caused me to stop playing, is the ridiculous "bump" animations. Yes I believe that to be the most effective way to use the iso motion.Comment

Keep at it bro you'll get better. As for the force field issue turn the strength slider down and even check the on ball defense. Here are some videos explaining that slider.the only thing i'm really tired of, and has caused me to stop playing, is the ridiculous "bump" animations. Wow... C'mon man... where's your Old Spice Swagger
Either you guys are fresh coming from Live or this is your first time playing NBA 2k11?
We asked for Sim we got it... we asked for control we got it... we asked for better game play and we got that too along with so much more so of course there will be a learning curve and a steep one for many but don't give up.
If you've played 2k before then you have a general idea of the basic controls. Everything else is new to even the experienced 2k gamers. Everyone of us here who picked this game up had to learn isomotion all over again to continue and once you get a handle on the basics everything else will surly follow. I play on Press cam but try out as many different cam variations until you fine one that works for you.
Also... if your having a hard time learning and keeping up with the iso-moves find yourself some "video"... tutorials and "bookmark" them for future reference.Last edited by RedmanR; 11-23-2010, 02:40 AM.Where they DO that? ? ?Comment
