GT5: Kart Racing is Real?!

At first I thought Kazunori added cart racing just for a fun aspect, and to rekindle his roots from the first racing game he did on the PSOne called Motor Toon Grand Prix.

But I saw this video and I guess Kart Racing is real, with real championships.

Who would have thunk?

Sorry for the ignorance, but they will race anything in this world, haha!

I know the video was from some silly victory lap crash, but this is pretty cool that there is a meaning behind it being in the game. Not only is it fun, but it is legit! Now if you can crash like that, it would be even more hilarious!

Anyway, yeah, I love the karts in this game - they're even fun to race with against online randoms (and that's saying something). It also makes for pretty good practice driving in traffic.

The guy crashing in the video is actually a friend of mine and an accomplished race car driver who is working way to F1. Won a GP3 Series race last year. The crash was a result of him over celebrating winning the World title and his shoe laces getting stuck in the throttle pedal. That being said, still damn funny and we'll be bugging him for years about it.
