Re: Recent BaGM Problems
The issue isn't that they are RFAs I get that its the fact that they are not being signed by their teams (or no other offers for that matter) and not playing in the NHL for a 2nd season in a row.Comment

Re: Recent BaGM Problems
Well given the outrageous amounts players ask for and the fact that the cpu no longer wants to part with top picks or prospects, it's not suprising. EA really needs to revamp their trade logic and sim engine. It's just too bad it probably won't happen until they are ready to completely revamp the series again.Comment

In other words, welcome back Arcade Hockey. The SIM aspect has become extinct.Well given the outrageous amounts players ask for and the fact that the cpu no longer wants to part with top picks or prospects, it's not suprising. Re: Recent BaGM Problems
Lets be honest, EA's game was never really "Sim".
They always were going after the arcade player market more than sim players market. There is more money to be made in the arcade side of things.
For years people wanted full control of dynasty mode but they never done anything about it until they gave people season mode which was a one year thing, yet gave out the very much fantasy based EASHL and BAGM with all its set achievements and goal toward building a fantasy team.
HUT and Fifa ultimate team is the same.
Just my opinion of course.Last edited by rangersfan30; 12-01-2010, 04:40 PM.Comment

Re: Recent BaGM Problems
Yeah, while there are definatley some "sim" aspects to the game and it can be ALOT of fun to play with other people who play the game the way it should be played, it's still arcadish. From the skating to the crazy dekes, to the unrealistic goalie play. That on top of the way BAGM is.Comment

Re: Recent BaGM Problems
I actually love this. Maybe he got injured, maybe just wanted to pursue other career. Occasionally, prospects in every sport retire at unusually yopung age for various reasons. I love the unpredictability this brings. I have not seen it in my franchise, but (unless overdone) I would welcome it [granted, I, too, would grumble if it was MY 1st round pick].Comment

Yeah this one actually didn't bother me as much. I just used my imagination with this one ... and hired a new scouting staff.I actually love this. I just hope it doesn't become a common theme. I do notice that quite a few "no career stats" young guys retire each off season which I dont have a problem with at all unless it's a bunch of high draft picks. I don't track all the players the CPU drafts for each team to monitor this. I'm assuming it's not an issue, but now I'm a little suspicious about it because of what happened with my guy retiring.

Re: Recent BaGM Problems
With the bad comes some good. Just wrapped up another season (I'm sim testing until next roster update before I start real BaGM) Being my 1st rounder from last year retired I traded up and got the top overall pick. Wasn't cheap. Anyway he ended coming in at a 76 with A- potential. The 2nd overall pick came in at an 83 but with C potential. These are the 2 highest rated new rookies I've ever seen coming into the league right out of the draft. Up until now the top rated guys I had ever seen came in rated anywhere from 72-68 and usually spent 2-3 seasons in the AHL or junior before jumping to NHL so I thought this was pretty cool.Last edited by ucas005; 12-02-2010, 01:59 PM.Comment

Re: Recent BaGM Problems
That's great news! I just went through my fifth draft and have never seen higher than a 74 so far any year (I agree with your general range). To me, the overall rating does not seem that different between first round and late round picks, but the odds of having a high potential rating is much higher in the first round. I really am hoping for some immediate contributers to show up (just every few seasons is fine). Your 83 guy probably fits that bill. With the bad comes some good.
