Lions WR, Burleson, guarantees win over Chicago Bears

Lions WR Nate Burleson is guaranteeing a victory over the 8-3 Bears this Sunday. Starting QB Shaun Hill is not playing...and in favor of him will be 3rd stringer Drew Stanton. What do you guys think? Does Burleson wind up looking like an idiot for guaranteeing this win?

The Bears just beat an extremely hot Eagles team Qb'd by Michael Vick. They have one of the top defenses in the league. They're now playing the Detroit Lions with a third string QB...

Do I really need to say anything else?

I thought the Lions had a chance to catch the Bears in a letdown game. Then I saw that Drew Stanton is going to be playing quarterback. Oh, Nate, this is gonna be fun now.

Maybe true. But the last time the Bears came up against a struggling team playing an inexperienced quarterback, Todd Collins threw 4 INTs and the Bears still won by 17.

Sports guarantees are fun...when they are about meaningful games. I'd be more pissed to see the Lions win this one than to get blown out. Winning games hurts us at this point. Although tanking and heading for the draft position every year hasn't worked out so well in the past 10+ years...

Lions players shouldn't make predictions. I mean this is the same franchise where a player predicted a playoff run and they went on to have a crappy season.

I will say, if Hill or Stafford were at the helm this wouldn't be such a crazy notion.
