NOGSTERS NBA SUPERLEAGUE (the best teams of the past 25yrs)

    Its finally up!
I finally completed it....well. I couldve continued to test, tinker and edit etc...but enough is enough really. its ready to go.
hours and hours of creating, editing, testing...it was a massive effort.
    But it is worth it.

    GAMERTAG: nogman7

NOGSTERS NBA SUPERLEAGUE (the best teams of the past 25yrs!)

The list of teams I edited/created etc..

    86 CELTICS.
    90 HAWKS.
    92 CAVS [replaced 90 cavs]
    90 PISTONS.
    87 LAKERS [replaced 91 lakers]
    92 BLAZERS.
    94 KNICKS [replaced 95 knicks]
    96 BULLS [hybrid of 97]
    96 SONICS.
    98 JAZZ.
    MAGIC.[current] exported.
    LAKERS. [current] exported.
    HEAT.[current] exported.
    07 MAVS.
    07 SUNS.
    01 76ERS.
    97 HEAT.
    02 KINGS.
    01 LAKERS.
    95 MAGIC.
    03 MAVS.
    02 NETS.
    00 PACERS.
    04 PISTONS.
    94 ROCKETS.
    03 SPURS.
    93 SUNS.

Most the current teams that havent been edited to be a classic team are still intact ready to go.

    bulls
    hornets
    jazz [minus okur]
    bucks
    trailblazers.
    warriors

other teams are incomplete due to their players been used in classic teams.
    [bibby for instance]

I painstakingly edited all ratings, tendencies, hotposts, coach profiles and playbooks to get the gameplay authentic.
I created a few of my own caps, but used a lot of Player DNA downloads, I tried to use PB's CAPs as much as possible as his look the best and need the least under the hood work.
others. well, they looked the part mostly. but man did they need work.
tendencies, hotspots and even basic ratings completely ignored or off.
so yeah. it was a big long process.

oh. also. the team ratings seem broken to me.
teams like the 86 celtics are not even in the top 10 when you use them in a season which is deplorable when you see how much better they are than most teams. etc...
so ignore the silly team rankings. they dont make any sense.

    anyway enjoy.
    I know I will.

DUDE! These are the BEST rosters I've played with. You seemed to have studied the game and these teams carefully. Because with the few teams I played with, they played just like their real life counterpart. Great Job!

              appreciate the complement dice.

Thats what made the roster a slow process.

all the tendency, hotspots, playbooks changes to every player.

I am very experienced at editing nba2k games. have edited them since the original 2k. so its not really that I studied the teams. just a general perusal at the stats and my years of being an NBA nutter helped with that. But its more that I have a good understanding of how the numbers translate to the game and the gameplay and what needs changing to improve the gameplay.
I only play single player. So the cpu has to play right for me to be satisfied.
thats where the primary effort has gone.

I understand where you’re coming from on roster making. It’s a tedious and long process if you want your players to play right. Some people just slap some players together on a team and just throw them out there without even testing. I had made and posted some legendary rosters myself back in the last gen Xbox days on NBA 2K6. I had created like 8 legendary teams: 96 Bulls, 72 Lakers, 67 Sixers, 87 Lakers, 86 Celtics, 89 Pistons, 83 Sixers and 92 Bulls. I remember how long that took.

Excel was my friend during that time. I kept all my roster ratings on Excel spreadsheets. The way I did it, some of the ratings I devised a formula for. And for others, I just took similarity scores of the player of those seasons and compared it to players of the year NBA 2K6 was released and gave them their ratings. Then, I’d look at the ratings and make sure some of the ratings were toned down where they didn’t fit. So, if a guy like Gail Goodrich of the 72 Lakers had a close similarity score of Ray Allen then I’d use Allen’s ratings for the ones that’s non-formulated. Then I’d significantly lower Goodrich’s physical attributes(dunking, vertical, etc.) because we all know Goodrich wasn’t flying in the air like Allen was. BUT probably was as good a scorer as Allen according to the stats. Then probably the best part about it was the testing. I’d just take the team I just created and start a CPU vs CPU game and watch them play against a team and watch the results. After about 2-3 games, I’d tweak the results and finalize it.

My how times have changed. I’m married with a 2 year old so I don’t have as much time as I had before. To tell the truth, I made a meager attempt to do a legends roster this year and I haven’t even finished the first one. The team I was starting on was the 87 Lakers. So little time and too many ratings/tendencies to fine tune.

But as I stated before, I applaud your effort. Your rosters are great. I made some minor adjustments myself to accommodate on stuff that I thought might be appropiate. I’ve been watching basketball since the early 80’s so some of these teams I seen firsthand. I’m pretty sure you’ve been watching it around the same time frame BUT we may just have two different views on teams. Which is fine BUT I’d say majority of what you have in this roster is probably what I’d have if I made these rosters.

Other than the 93 Suns, all these teams can be used with the realistic uniforms right? The created teams irk me because of how bad the uniforms are.

all teams have the official uniforms and logos.

To make sure the 93 suns, 97 heat, 01 lakers, and 94 magic, 07 suns and 07 mavs were not created teams I exported the franchise's current teams to the roster via the export team option in season/association mode.
as the current teams have no created players. they dont get the cap face glitch.
this meant that the retro teams were able to be used in the current slots. so they get all the uniform options. the 93 suns are the only team who doesnt have the option to use their original uniform as it is not in the game.

the only issue with the way I did this is, when you are playing as one of these teams against another, the commentary rambles on about the 09/10 season which has no relation to these teams. and also. as the current teams have been placed as exported teams. their courts are incorrect.

nogster, this is the reason why this is one of the best rosters out there.....you may not have the most downloads or highest ratings, but you can really tell the difference. the three point shooters, try to shoot threes...the post up players, really try to post up and score...it makes the single player experience that much more enjoyable. thanks again.

I noticed you didn't have any of the first 3-peat Bulls(91-93) on your roster. What would you edit if you included them. Thanks.
