    Bounce passes?

I've been playing a lot with the T-Wolves and thought my passing was bad because of the team / lack of a high quality passing PG.

However, I've started using the Suns a bit...and my passing is just as bad.

How can I bounce pass on a fast break or in traffic etc?

I know how to bounce pass easily with the entry pass to a post player...but using the Suns, I am running the show a la Steve Nash...

And the passing is 99.9999% those bullet passes into the upper body...i.e. nothing like how Nash really passes. Anyone got any tips??? It's really frustraing at the moment using the Suns. Not being able to pass in traffic a la Nash.

    Stuff like this...see short video.

pass targeting and appropriate pass choices are a huge problem in this game - it seems like the wrong pass for the situation is chosen more often than the correct one.

As far as I know, you can't choose when you bounce pass - its randomly determined by the game. But I remember some users saying that they could choose to bounce pass - any of you guys have ideas?

I can bounce pass into the post, but not at my control. From the elbow into a bigman.

And sometimes its a light lob.

i usually bounce pass around a defender to a player cutting towards the basket...most of the time it's done with direction passing not icon...

CHoops 2K8's Maximum Passing is a must for 2K12.

            Re: Bounce passes?

Seems like I have no control over the pass to be honest.

Passing was better in older versions / CH...any reason it's become this limited?

I tried just now...20 passes with Steve Nash and everything was just bullet passes into the chest.

That's okay for teams who use high levels of plays (as I've been doing) as you should hit a guy off a double screen in the chest...

But playing randomly with Nash and going in and weaving out of traffic etc, and looking to pass like in the vid is impossible...kind of frustrating how limited the passing is.

The entry pass into the post can be done as a bounce pass...

But fast breaks, pick and rolls, cuts in traffic etc...all seem impossible unless I'm missing something? I've only ever seen bullet chest passes.

im not saying i know how to actually perform a bounce pass....it really is random but i've done a no-look bounce pass during a fastbreak before

this is sort of a broken pick and roll play because they double teamed my PG

I agree with this thread. This is probably the most disappointing facet of this game. Can someone make sure one of the developers is aware of this issue, if for no other reason than next year?

Yeah bounce passes are random and should have been incorporated into the game. I hope the bounce pass and the ability to walk the ball up court are added next year.
Where they DO that? ? ?

Thanks for those vids man...nice to see a bounce pass on the break. I guess it is random. It's kind of frustrating as there's times where i need a bounce pass for it...but me not controlling it sux pretty badly.

Example, I go baseline to baseline with Nash...two defenders collapse on me as i come back near the hoop area...this leaves Lopez unguarded for a moment. Right now, if i can slice a bounce pass through to him = easy lay up.

Instead...a chest pass gets thrown which hits the CPU defender on the arm on it's way.

I hope Beluba reads this as passing was very, very good in LIVE 10 and he was the guy who made that happen and really featured it when he worked on that game. 2K11 is miles behind LIVE 10 in passing. (Just passing...obviously 2K is light years ahead in most other areas).

                        Re: Bounce passes?

Bounce passing to my knowledge is uncontrollable and are more situational most of the time I do it when the defender is playing me tight and the only way to pass it is to do some kind of rap around which results in a bounce pass, on occasion I have done it during a fast break.

pretty much what he said...the defender is usually in your face...and your player goes into an animation for a special pass...i can easily do wrap around passes during a fastbreak but bounce passes are a bit random...what i usually do is(ps3) aim the left joystick towards the direction of the man driving to the basket(usually at the 2 o'clock position) and tap x...

Limited Bounce Passes dont diminish my gaming experience.

Same here. I usually slow up a bit too on my breaks with the ballhandler and use the icon passing toward the cutters movement. It's not always a bounce pass, but it seems to always be the "right" pass.

I would also say, go into the scrimmage practice mode and try as many passing variations and you can to see what situations trigger what animations (even though passing shouldn't be this way).
