Help!! Need some info regarding nhl 11
Ok, so the last nhl game i played was nhl 09, which was a great game, now I may be in the market for a new hockey game. I never played '10 or so far '11. My question is which one should I get? I also heard that in '11 you can't share rosters and can only use the EA ones. Is this true? If so is there anyone who is or has a currently updated roster for NHL 10? Oh this is for the ps3.Tags: None -

If you Xbox, then you can share rosters via USB, otherwise your stuck with EA's. If you have Xbox PetrPuck's roster is the way to go. He includes instructions on how to complete the process and all.Comment

11, but, for me, it's closer than the other folks here feel. See:

Sorry, I don't know anything about sharing rosters, so I can't help you there.Comment

Re: Help!! Need some info regarding nhl 11
I am liking NHL 11 the more I play it, although I felt out of the box the sliders were junk. I played a lot of NHL 09, never owned 10 but did play it a few times. With default settings, NHL09 plays faster and is a much more up'n'down game with lots of scoring chances and tape-to-tape one timers. Default NHL11 has more of an emphasis on methodical play, with defenders that are better at intercepting passes than offensive skaters are at recieving them. Those old school big one timers that have been a part of the NHL series for a long time are basically nerfed. That's not really a bad thing, as they were clearly over the top in NHL09... but I think maybe they went a bit too far. NHL 11 does feature better goalie AI then NHL09 and a defensemen with a good slap shot will actually score occasionally.
I haven't looked at any slider sets here, but have been doing my own tweaking, picked up the game speed a bit, toned down the godlike interceptions a bit and have found a nice balance. I'm still winning too many faceoffs, which is my next tweak, but it's a work in progress.
I would recommend getting it if 09 was your last game, some nice improvements... Some things, like the rather pedestrian ragdoll checking mechanic made me wonder why they wasted their time... but overall I'm happy with the game. Nowhere near as revolutionary as the early hype made things sound, but glad I picked it up after about 300 offline games of NHL09.Comment

I dunno, its up to you but i should warn you that the hitting in this game is extremely similar to nhl hitz and while its fun for the first 1 week, it becomes extremely annoying after a while.Comment
