    Brick after brick after brick

I'm beginning to believe that it really doesn't matter what sliders you have, star players will shoot brick after brick after brick. I ran a test with 3 different slider tests. One with Armor&Sword, one with Purist, and one with PuntNL's.

I tested with Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Kobe Bryant, Roy Hibbert, and Dwight Howard. All of these players in my PLAYED game using COACH MODE went something like 7-16 FG's (in the ball park) over and over in games.

Yes some games they did ok, but too often Carmelo would go through slumps where he would miss more than 7 shots spaced out and he did NOT have the cold icon at the time. Same with Kobe and Dwight Howard.

I watch Kobe get wide open with the plays the Lakers run and take mid-range jumpers and just watch the ball bounce off the rim.

Do you guys witness just horrible shooting by star players? I understand players can go through a slump but me playing the Lakers against the Wolves in a test game, and the score is 75-40 Wolves by the start of the 4th quarter..there is a serious issue.

Are default sliders the way to go? There has to be a REALISTIC slider set.

I don't see the same. I mean, I play my games, and star players can always light me up.

Couldn't you just adjust the sliders yourself until you got what you were looking for?

The problem is that I have adjusted and have tried different sets. If I have the sliders set to exactly the same for User and CPU then the player ratings should come into effect..right?

But yet I see players that are high 60's and low 70's in ratings completely dominate players that are high 80's , low 90's. I mean these high 60's players just making amazing shots and draining them time and time again. Too often I would see Carmelo or Kobe do a mid range jumper wide open and just have bricks. Thump...right off the rim.

Also while watching my team (in coach mode) run the called play, they would make ridiculously stupid shots like for instance Carmelo would try to avoid the post defense so he would run back out toward the 3pt arc, jump and do a fade away in midair from back near the 3pt arc. Seriously?

This is what I'm talking about. I don't want to play the players because I can skew realism and wanted the player ratings to come into full effect but for whatever reason the players lose intelligence when coach mode is enabled.

I would be of the opinion that you are just poor at the game.

              Turn on the shot feedback

He's testing them out on coach mode, it has nothing to do with his skill set as a gamer.

I'm seeing the same thing with Lebron, he can't make a 3 pointer to save his life.

Isn't unrealistic for players to go through slumps, its a crap shoot sometime as to who on your team will be you go to guy from game to game, I play with the Celtics and sometime Allen will be hot and Pierce will not be and vice versa, that is what makes the game great nothing is guaranteed, and you have to be able to adjust.

Turn on shot feedback and release your shots earlier. Saved the game for me because they completely changed the releases.

All shot releases are not at the peak of your jump now -- they're earlier, slightly after you raise up to shoot.

Adjusting to the jump shooting thru using practice/shot feedback saved the game for me. I still don't know why the hell they changed the shot releases though.

                      my mistake, i only skimmed.

Coach mode is just as lopsided as when you are playing. Its best to just make adjustments and set it as cpu vs cpu

Guys I might have to agree with this guy from a causal users point of view. My cousin and little brother hated playing 2k11 on default and simulation. They could not hit any shots at all. I heard so much complaining during the week about the game. That I had to turn it to causal. More open shots went down. But there were more swishes then shots rattling in (on open shot). But you could still miss open shots. Just not at the frustrating rated on sim and default.

My brother for one plays with and only play with Dallas aka Dirk. He know how Dirk plays in real life. And he can't for the life of him shot consistently with him outside of 10 feet. His only tactic that worked consistently vs my family was to lead pass with Jason Kidd to Tyson, Dirk, and Haywood or anyone else. That tactic didn't work vs me.

edit: Also he can shoot with Caron Butler better than he can shot with Dirk. Isn't that messed up?

^^This. I was having a lot of trouble shooting before because I was releasing too late, and I just turned shot feedback on. It changed everything for me, and don't think it ruins the fun of it because you know if the ball is going in or not right away because you don't. Just because it's green doesn't mean it's going in or vice versa, it's just there to help you get the timing of everyone's shot down if you haven't used them before.

If you were just doing coach mode then I'm not sure what the issue is there I haven't messed around with that yet.

Re: Brick after brick after brick

                            Couple of things:

                            1. I am playing coach mode so my skill as a gamer is not taken into account.

                            2. Even if I was playing, if I am using Real FG% instead of shot stick timing, then it doesn't matter when I release my stock stick.

                            3. After doing some more testing it appears that if I keep the same sliders which are pretty balanced for both User and CPU that if I change the difficulty to PRO instead of ALL-STAR it makes a difference.

It could have just been a few games, but since I changed it to PRO now the stars make those shots. Granted they still miss but no where near as often.

                            Example:

Carmelo Anthony FG under ALLSTAR: 6-18, 0-4 3pt
Carmelo Anthony FG under PRO: 11-19, 2-4 3pt

This was my last game testing both difficulty settings.
