Whoops, didnt see this thread before i posted in the old one.

    Realistic win/loss predictions?

As much as it pains me to predict a loss.....i think that the game in Lincoln will be a tough one.

I do however think we beat Wisky in The Shoe. That spanking they gave us last year cannot go by the wayside.

I love the attitude with this team. They seem to embrace the "us against the world mentality.

I see 8-4 or 9-3. @ Nebraska, @ Miami, and either Wisconsin or Michigan State will beat us...maybe both.

As much as I couldn't stand Pryor I think Bauserman will not be able to keep teams from loading the box against the run and it'll will a long season for the offense. Even if Bauserman isn't the QB they will go ultra conservative.

MSU wont be as good last year due to losing seniors. I'm willing to bet Bauserman doesnt start the Miami game.

I see anywhere from 8-4 to 11-1. I think we lose the Nebraska game for sure, I mean its on the road at night with a first-time starting QB. The other big games (Wisconsin, Penn State, Miami (FL), etc.) are toss-ups in my book.

Bauserman will probably start the season opener, but he'll be on a very short leash and get pulled at the first sign of trouble. At least that was the plan back when JT was still in charge, who knows what Luke could have in store as far as the QB battle goes. I'm expecting Braxton to take over at some point this season.

Offense will be extremely conservative with Bollman calling the shots IMO.

            I'm predicting a 10-2 regular season.

I think we beat Wisonsin at home, but on the road @ Nebraska is a loss.

The other loss I'm not sure. I'm confident we win all of our OOC games, including @ Miami. But I think we slip up in conference play somewhere similar in '09 @ Purdue.

@ Illinois or in Columbus against Penn State are likely to be the other game we lose.

            Best case scenerio: 11-1
            Worst case scenerio: 8-4

Edit: I think Braxton will get snaps this year, but I think Bauserman will be the starter for all games, even if he struggles which is likely.

              Neat little fun fact:

              Jim Tressel's first game: 2001 v Akron

              Luke Fickell's first game: 2011 v Akron

              A decade later, same opponent.

If Fickell keeps Bauserman in all season long i will pull my hair out. Bauserman isnt Craig Krenzel, plus our defense is unknown besides the D-line.

I know there's been a lot of teeth mashing about the Buckeyes probably going to a conservative game plan with a new QB, and a former Defensive coach, but is that really a bad thing?

Between Herron (after game 5), Hall, and Berry, that's a pretty nice backfield. Especially when you've got Boren lead blocking.

I want to see what the hype in summer camp was all about on Rod Smith. He looked pretty good in the spring game. I hope he sees some action soon.

Hall was moved to slot WR, but he'll still see some carries.

While Herron is suspended, my best guess is that it will be a Berry/Smith backfield which should be very promising.

Little bit of thunder, little bit of lightning.

The running game better be good. If its not were in trouble.

Good news, Tyler Moeller is healthy.

Once again this week, we had a chance to visit with several OSU players. DB Tyler Moeller and OT J.B. Shugarts provided injury updates. TE Jake Stoneburner also met the media.

Moeller was happy to report that he has made a full recovery from the torn pectoral muscle he suffered last year. Moeller, ticketed to play the nickel back spot as a sixth-year senior, also said he has put on close to 15 pounds. He has gone from 205 pounds last year to 219 this year.
Moeller is one of my favorite Buckeyes and I think he can have a great year. His production will help out the Buckeyes a lot on defense. I know the offensive side of the ball has been getting a lot of attention this off-season with the QB situation, Herron suspension, how conservative the offense will be etc...but I'm more worried about defense, especially the secondary.

Edit: I hope Moeller is a full-time starter at linebacker. I know we will get a lot of playing time either way, but the Buckeyes are better on defense when he is out there.

Moeller plays the STAR so he'll be on the field a lot.

Agreed though, I love Moeller. I think he's got a great shot to be our best player on the defensive side of the ball this coming year.

I'm not worried about the defensive side of the ball at all.

Just a summary from what most of the main guys are saying as of right now:

If your hoping for Meyer, Gruden, or some other unrealistic coach, keep dreaming. It's Luke's job to lose, and if not him then Bo Pelini will be leading the team out of the tunnel come September 2012.
