I made a SG in my player mode (ps3) and i am 42 overall and im drafted by the heat. (yay!) i have played 2 games and only scored 2 points. it is ridicoulus. every time i am put in the game and my team gets the ball a blue dot shows up. i run to it and a line tells me to go to the opposite slideline so i run over there and they pass it 2 lebron and he hits a three and it does this every time i go down the court. and if i dont go to the blue dot the PG literally stands their untill there is 2 seconds left on the shot clock and he gives me the ball close to the halfcourt line and i have to jack up a random shot. How can i fix this and how can i get better? There are people who are like "my guys 80 overall" they have to be hacked unless the had cheat code or something because that is impossible.

cancel the play call by pressing L1...
it's your first 2 games...it takes patience...you cant just start assessing how impossible the game is after just two games in which 1.) you're not even a starter...2.) you havent yet earned the trust of your players to pass you the ball at a higher rate... 3.) you havent even gotten your attributes high enough to be that effective of a scorer anyway...
lots of people have difficulties in the beginning of this mode...and lots of people dont...you cant just downright state that what doesnt work for you shouldnt work for others...but i will admit...the play calling thing is an annoyance and the patch that came out for it is a bit of deterrence for users who want an arcade-style(freestyle) type of play...but i know other users who actually study the playbooks of other teams from the main menu to see which team runs the most plays for the position they're playing at so they can then request a trade to said team
my advice is just stick to it...if the mode thoroughly does piss you off that much try playing "player lock" association with a created player...Last edited by -ENiGMA724-; 01-26-2011, 04:04 PM. -
I found it pretty easy to get my player better. I'm in my second year and I am an overall 91 right now. Should be 99 pretty quick.Comment

PATIENCE man. Thats the key to the whole thing. Im a SG "Scorer" and I was coming off the bench for the first 10 games with no more than 15 minutes played with the thunder. Im half way through the season and im starting and getting about 37 minutes a game and over the last month i have averaged about 30 points a game. Im only a 66 rating so to get up in the 80's for rating will take u at least 1 1/2 seasons to get there.Comment

My Player is actually really easy. You'd be suprised how much you can score once you get the minutes. My guy has 70 layup, and 70 ball handle and could get to the rim and finish easily.Proud Clippers fanComment

lol. It takes patience to really get the hang of this mode. This first time I played it, I honestly expected for my guy to be lebron james in my first game. It has taken me into my 2nd season to become an 80 overall player, not in my first couple of games.Originally posted by Smoove7182954Comment

Did anyone say patience yet? It took me awhile to even get a good shot. I practiced passing and didnt follow the play calls. If you're on a team that already has a good SG, you're basically screwed since you wont get playing time until you outperform Wade (which is highly unlikely first year)Comment

It's circumstantial. You're behind Wade and Miller probably gets some time @ SG, so there's not a whole lot of time left. Still though, just say the right things in the press conferences (get your team chemistry up) and when you call for the ball, they'll likely give it to you. I'm a SG on the Wolves, and when I was drafted by them, I was mortified. I mean, the Wolves? But right now I'm getting starter minutes as the 6th man (Should surpass Corey Brewer in a couple games) just 13 games into the season and I'm one of the go-to guys on the team. Like you, though, my first 5 or so games were horrendous. It'll get better.Comment

I actually like being on the 'Wolves. Love gets a lot of offensive rebounds, Beasley is a consistent scorer, Wes finishes inside constantly (he's a black hole though; DON'T pass it to him on the perimeter), Ridnour and Flynn pass the ball to me when I call for it and are good shooters, etc...
I mean, we don't win often, but I like being there just because I can put up great individual numbers on a regular basis.Comment

My Player is really, easy, first up your shot mdeium, 3pt, shoot in traffic and consistency, it helps you a lot, noww i am just putting too much points per game so i don't shoot that muchChicago Bulls 1996
