It depends on how you're going to play it.

If you're like me and sim part of the seasons so you have time to play multiple seasons, maintaining cap space is very important. If a player is not in my top 7 for my rotation, I will essentially give them away for cap relief if possible.

Also if you re-tool your roster, change your coach profile accordingly so that when you sim, you play to your strengths. Don't be afraid to adjust players shot tendencies to how you want to run your team.

It's all in personal preference really.

Me, I play every game (82 games) plus all the playoff games. I keep things as realistic as possible by checking the rumor mill for trades, building threw the draft during the offseason. Developing young players through drills and workouts, etc, etc.

Or you can do it the other way and try to build a beast team, blow up your roster. Just have as much fun as possible and try to build yourself a dream team.

It's all up to you. Just make sure your having fun.

29 games, 3-5-7-7 format for playoff

get a champinoship asap in a realistic way meaning you dont' rip off the cpu in trades~

I like to play 82 game seasons 7-7-7-7 playoffs. I like to sim until the current date, so if I started a game today I would sim to February 1st game time too. I would say if you're going to blow up your roster do it in the off season, obviously trade for some expiring contracts during the season to give yourself more flexibility in the free agency market.

What about the practice drills for players do I do them?

Use the skill points I get?

I'm playing 29-game seasons this year, and they're perfect really. With every game clocking in at between 60 and 90 minutes, I wanted the ability to play a few seasons.

My main tip for you is to find the players that work FOR YOU. Get the guys who suit your style of play, and don't just get them because you think they are the best.

                  Above all, enjoy it!

same here. runnig a 82 game season with 10 min. quaters. right now im 2 games away from the allstar game. have to say that i only play NBA 2K11, NHL and MLB the Show only sometimes a "blockbuster" game like Killzone 3 in between but the story modes are usually that short, that it takes no longer than a weekend to finish and not interrested in the onlinepart.

So when 2K12 arrives i think im stuck in the middle of season 2, something like that. But thats ok, maybe i will not buy it when i think that im cool with 2k11. So then playing 2K11 till 2k13 comes out. But a big inovation for sportgames would be to use the franchises from the former games, so that you could simple transfer the stats and so on to the next yaers game.

Basically try not to get into bad long term deals. In my last association I was paying Steven Jackson 10 mil a year when he couldnt do any of the things I paid him that much for any more lol.

lol i agree,it's crazy how 2k11 never gets tiring to me because i only play it too. I bought Red Dead Redemption & Yakuza 3 about 2 months ago & have played those games about 8 times combined. I love both of those games but 2k11 is never ending & when Basketball season is officially over i'll switch back to those 2 games.

                          Hey DarkNowitzki,

You are 2 games away from the all star break? I have three associations going (one that I played every game with Utah) and two "test" ones to see if this glitch happens everytime. I want to know if you have run into your game freezing at the end of the first quarter. All three associations are doing this to me and I cannot play any more games. So depressing.

Beantownbomber718 : Exact the same here. Im loving this game and with MLB the Show and the soon commimg Top Spin 4 i will be totaly satisfied and 4 sure having enough to go on for a long long time. After the nice pictures i put NASCAR on my radar but will wait for some opinions about the gameplay.

mbeatty32: Yesterday i played the Allstar Game and after that two regular season games against the Bucks and the Cavs. Glady have had no freeze issue so far. Playing on the PS3.

I had that problem when the game frozen after the first TIMEOUT was called. That was because I tried to save the game and resume from where I saved at.
What I did was sim to the end of that game and then I was able to play as normal. It might be a memory thing - my memory is acting funny for my game
