Re: DO U FEEL THAT YOU'RE GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH FOOTBALL GAMES THIS GENERAT
It depends, if 2K made an NFL game (they are rumored to make a Canadian League game), then it'd knock the socks off of Madden. I didn't buy M11 because I'm fed up. But, NBA 2K11 is pretty sweet. Same with all 2K games. So, it really depends on the sport. But for football, yes I'm waitingTEAMS:
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
MLB: New York Yankees
NCAA: Ohio State Buckeyes -
Re: DO U FEEL THAT YOU'RE GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH FOOTBALL GAMES THIS GENERAT
I feel I've gotten $60+ out of each of my Madden and NCAA purchases. There are no other games during the year that I put as much time into, $/hr is way tilted in both of those games being worthwhile purchases.
I have issues and annoyances with some bugs and the speed that some features are being developed, but to ANSWER THE ALL CAPS SUBJECT I've gotten my money's worth out of each title.
I've played some Blitz: The League and APF2k8 but bought both at such a discount (think APF2k8 was $9 brand new at BB) that they'd fall under the same. Only game that would approach not being worth the money I spent on them was Backbreaker, that was mostly due to the lack of franchise information prior to launch, the game going on sale just a day after the 'modes' video came out that really didn't answer any questions and just being eager to try it. It would be a stretch to say I got $50 out of it.Comment

Of the ones I have purchase. I feel like I have gotten a lot out of NCAA. For Madden it is about even and I regret my Backbreaker game. So I would say that I have got my money’s worth. I have played less football games this generation but I don’t think it has to do with the quality of games, more due to the quality of other games.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
I own a band check it outComment

Re: DO U FEEL THAT YOU'RE GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH FOOTBALL GAMES THIS GENERAT
NO !!! Missing features, removed features, broken features and unfinished game modes. Games not having things that people have been asking to have in for years. Also lies and overhyping new stupid *** features/modes. The worst of all is the arogance of the devs and game producers that think they know what we want then try to convince us that we will love there next great idea while ignoring WHAT WE WERE TRULY ASKING FOR! This would apply to hockey/boxing games too.
This Gen = Disappointment and Frustration

Re: DO U FEEL THAT YOU'RE GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH FOOTBALL GAMES THIS GENERAT
Yes and no. NCAA is a fine game, but I still feel there's so much more they can do with it to blow everything else outta the water.
Same goes for Madden. When I look at other titles, (The Show, NBA 2k11, etc), it makes me realize neither football title has reached its full potential.
I'm not buying on release day anymore. Although I'm enjoying NCAA, I just feel my $60 wasn't that well spent....Comment

Re: DO U FEEL THAT YOU'RE GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH FOOTBALL GAMES THIS GENERAT
Overall, not really. I was happy 2K made at least one attempt with APF2K8 but I was really bummed about some key mistakes the developers made with it and the fact there never was a 2nd game. I own Madden 07 and Madden 10 and they both still are basically the same game.
But I will say, I do enjoy franchise managing in M10 much more than other games even with it's warts. Backbreaker was a good first try and 505 has set up a rock solid foundation but needs to do exponentially better in the next round if they want to stick around. NCAA is fine but I don't enjoy college ball, and the gameplay feels much too fast & arcade'ish.
Overall, I give this generation of football games a C+Comment

I think I've gotten my money's worth. I wish they would've updated RTG and Teambuilder more (NCAA 11), but I play the game so much that the $60 was definitely worth it.Comment

Re: Do u feel that you're getting your money's worth with football games this generat
Nah, I haven't gotten my money's worth with football games this gen except with APF 2k8.
I've yet to play NCAA FB 11 until tomorrow or tuesday to really judge on that, but far as Madden goes, I haven't got my money's worth.
I stopped playing Madden with Madden 10 being my last.
Madden 10 was the 1st & last FB game I played by EA, and it sucked for the fact that some features were already originated by 2k.
Don't get me wrong, it was ok, good at best.
But without competition, Madden can't push and excel like it never did (if it ever did).
APF 2k8, an unlicense FB game showed to be the best of all to me.
Tough defense (w/ sliders), some new animations, build a team creativity, improved trench fighting, and a great kicking system.
The kick system is far better than a meter.
But APF doesn't go without it's cons, yet I still got my money's worth out of that 1 game.Comment

I feel that I got my money's worth in the NCAA football series this generation. As for the Madden series.... I feel that the worth is more of a lesson in dealing with frustration and disappointment.
In my opinion, Madden has become more of an example of a perfect business model than a great NFL football video game.It is better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.Comment

Disappointment is an understatement.
Football feels detached, broken, and un-authentic. Poor in quality, but looks nice.
I would rather have pure balanced gameplay, sounds, and a perk based team play-style new
Engine....... Play to your team's game-plan/strength and be rewarded. Simple, but deep: SF4, MvC3 like.
With this, then I'll take the small incremental yearly updates and see them justified. What world do you live in?Comment

Re: Do u feel that you're getting your money's worth with football games this generat
The graphics are getting very good, but the sim realism of today's large market games are horrible. I spent several weeks working on sliders for Madden 11 trying to get it to play a semi-realistic game of football in coach mode, and it was a total failure. DL'd all the patches, worked with some of the sliders uploaded to OS, etc.
Watching a Madden 11 game is like watching a track meet. DB's leave receivers completely uncovered and long TD passes happen over and over. If you are coaching, there is no reason whatsoever to call a running play. Just keep passing and eventually your opponent's D will leave a receiver wide open for a long TD.
I heard a lot of great things about NCAA 11, so I gave it a try too. After 1 game I saw the same DB logic being used from the Madden engine. Long pass TD after Long pass TD. The graphics were incredible, the action was kinda fun, but it was a Fail in terms of realism.
Both games set me back about $120 and are now collecting dust, so No I didn't get my money's worth. But I did learn to never play an EA Football game again if I want realism.Comment
