The Kings haven't made a final decision, but sources said team officials have been in Orange County, Calif., this month to gather more first-hand data on the feasibility and potential obstacles involved in trying to move to Anaheim's Honda Center at season's end after a 26-season run in Sacramento and numerous failed attempts to secure the financing needed for the construction of a new modern arena.

Kings To Stay In Sacramento Through 2011-12
Sources: Kings consider relocation
I would love the Kings to come back to Kansas City, but obviously I'm a little biased. I think the city could support a team at least as well as Sacramento does. But Anaheim doesn't really make sense to me. Why would they want to put essentially a third team in LA? A historically losing team in the Clippers already has a hard time competing with the Lakers, and the Kings aren't gonna be good right away. Just seems like a weird choice to me.The Sacramento Kings are seriously considering the possibility of applying to the NBA by the league's March 1 deadline for relocation to Anaheim for next season, according to sources with knowledge of the team's thinking.

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Seems like we'll be getting another team here... Greeeaaattttttt.
It wouldn't really be a third team in LA, Orange County is a completely different area/beast.
However I still would think it's not needed. F'n Clippers are already here... we don't need three teams. God. -

Concur. I was thinking yesterday, about the Clippers moving their *** back to San Diego, or to Seattle, with Griffin not in the fold, they could own those cities, 3 teams in such close proximity would just be absurd.Seems like we'll be getting another team here... Greeeaaattttttt.

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
The move to Anaheim wouldn't make sense. If they want to stay in California then they should go to San Diego. The place that makes the MOST sense though would be Kansas City. Why there isn't a team in the heartland of America makes no sense to me.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Wouldn't be my first choice, but if the Kings came to Anaheim that would be great. Would love to watch them on TV every night, and since all the people here are consumed by the Lakers, it'd be enjoyable. And, it'd be two Suns games I could attend without having to pay like 300 bucks a seat like I would have to if I decided to be stupid and go to watch them when they play the Lakers.Comment

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Send the Kings to Anaheim and send the Clippers back to Buffalo and call them the...(wait for it)...
Buffalo Braves!

Blake Griffin could really rock the 70's powder blues...
Ain't gonna happen, but that would be really, really cool...Comment

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Seems ridiculous to me, but what do I know? It's true that O.C. and L.A. are 2 completely different beasts (despite their proximity), but a 3rd SoCal hoops squad seems pointless to me. Especially when Seattle and (as others have pointed out) K.C. are still without. Hell, the Vegas move would at least make sense compared with Anaheim.
Ultimately, I don't care because I'm a 'Stones fan, but I hate to see people lose their teams, especially when the fan-bases are as good as Sac-town's can be (when they bother to put a real team on the court). I hate this leveraging of city/state governments to build private facilities for wealthy individuals....but that's 21st Century athletics.Comment

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Does anyone else see the unfairness in the fact that the LA area has three teams while Seattle doesn't have one?
I just don't see how the Kings will crack into the fanbase there, and I doubt most Sacramento fans continue to follow them. I hope it works out, though.Comment

Re: Kings Mulling Move to Anaheim
Keep the Kings away from O.C. they should buddy buddy up with the Clippers and try to get the hell out of dodge. Clippers either need to move back to Buffalo or San Diego, and idc where the Kings go. The problem is, with the recent increase of NBA players leaving 'smaller market' teams for the bigger ones, idk if moving them to a Kansas City or Buffalo would make any sense.Comment
