I love that site.
I think it would be a great addition to a revamped Franchise mode in 12.

It'd be cool in that mode, maybe you can get scouting reports and top 100 prospect info.

They can have fake/real articles on players and teams for you to read ala Madden 06-08 last gen.

I don't know, there's a ton of cool places they can go and BP is the gold standard.
The Show needs to go 'online' with the features in franchise and move away from the antiquated newspapers.

Just a thought as we know SCEA listens.

The Show doesn't have rights to minor league players until they have major league service time. The features you request would be cool but I don't know how Baseball Prospectus could help besides just with their name for "authenticity" of fake players.

MVP baseball had Baseball America do the Top 100 Prospects [fake players based on the real ones] so they could possibly do that.

Im pretty sure that the minor leaguers in the show are based on real-life MiLB players (their attributes that is), as long as they bear no resemblance (in appearance) to a MiLB player, they can have the attributes that SCEA sees fit.

All minor league players with A potential in The Show are basically prospects, and if you look at position and ratings, you can usually match them up with a real-life player.

with this Baseball Prospectus can provide analysis for those pages along with doing reports for Prospects.

it was confusing because as i understand it, SCEA does this, and has been doing so for quite some time, but you were talking as if they did no research into prospects...

They already have BP as a sponsor in the game?
I think your missing what I was requesting. But honestly Its not a biggie.
I am suggesting using BP in Franchise mode much like MVP did but even deeper, by adding news, notes and reports on prospects and MLB teams.
Somewhat like they do in MLB 2k11 with the Insider.

I wouldn't mind if BP or another saber-friendly site was added to The Show to give us more options as far as stats. Give the user the option to pick what stats he would like shown in game, as well as in-season stats. That would add some depth to franchise as people could really dig into some new age stats such as WAR, wOBA, OPS+, etc. to better measure trades, prospects, free agents. Or just stick with RBI, W-L's, and the like... more customization for the user to view and sort stats that one may prefer. That would be sweet.

I agree. Better options for stats would be great. Maybe even just have a whole separate page for the "new" stats.

I would like for player ratings and whatnot to be outsourced to BP. I edited my roster last year based on their projections.

Shaffer, you are probably correct, but lets hope they can at least use them for a 'top' prospect' feature.

I sent a "prospect page" idea to Kolbe for '12.
I also sent him a few suggestions on a sort of minor league watch page in you GM area...where you could track players(yours and other organizations)...and click on their names on your page to view their scouting report...stats...etc.
Hopefully, he considers some of the suggestions that I(from my own an from suggestions from the guys here) sent him.

I am sure that he would implement some of them, since u said he would hope to rip out the guts of the franchise mode.
Is he the 'Franchise' guy there?
