Re: ESPN 30 For 30 : Fab Five
Will be watching this one. I still haven't seen a team like the Fab 5. Were they the best team ever? No, but if they had won both of those title games they would have been in the running for sure. They were definitely unique...5 freshman dominating. Crazy. I think I can still name them all: Jalen Rose, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, Ray Jackson. I wonder what happened with King/Jackson?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers Hornsby -
Re: ESPN 30 For 30 : Fab Five
I lived up there when all that was happening. I was 10 years old and remember it very well. I've read a couple books about the team and I'm curious to see what new info, if any, ESPN brings to the table with this one. Must watch for me.Will be watching this one. This is the team that made me stop following Michigan basketball. Knew that they were dirty when they stepped on campus.

I can't wait to see this. I loved the Fab Five when I was a kid. I had a pair of baggy maize shorts and the black socks back then to.Although it stinks what they did I never stopped Michigan basketball. I have stuck with the program ever since the Fab Five.Comment

The 1993 Tar Heels come to my mind, when I think of the Fab Five. Good Times.

I can't wait for this.
Lots of childhood memories here. I was 10 growing up in Michigan, how could I not love them?
They didn't revolutionize anything (or cheat, for that matter). They won't be making a documentary about the 2001 Duke team. He wasn't saying they were the best team ever. He was saying that the amount of hype and the way they ushered in a new style hasn't been seen since.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-05-2011, 04:14 PM.Comment

Re: ESPN 30 For 30 : Fab Five
I loved the Fab Five. They brought in their own style with the baggy shorts, black shoes and socks. I enjoyed that team a lot. Good times.
4 of the 5 were top ten recruits and I think Jackson was top 100.
This is a must watch for me. Besides watching games the only ESPN programming I watch is 30 for 30."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Re: ESPN 30 For 30 : Fab Five
This isn't a 30 for 30 btw, that series has ended. This is just some ESPN original programming. Kinda a sign of how badly ESPN has fallen and how rare their good original programming has become.
Really looking forward to this, I still have the '93 title game on VHS somewhere."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

LOL @ Jalen Rose. He is on First Take right now saying, "They were a better team than Carolina." If you were so much better, you should have won the game.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 03-08-2011, 01:17 PM.Comment
