If you were in charge of the madden team...

Wouldn't you want to at least try to put out a product that you can be proud of? I mean, I would never want to just put out a game because I have to (if I created games) I'd want put one out that I can feel good about and that I know people will have fun with that I could look back on and say "Hey, we did a really good job on this one." Not "Hey, we met the deadline, let's get paid" or whatever.

Because this is the dumbest thing i've ever heard.

Of course the guys at EA try.

    To assume so is irrresponsible.

Wow, now that as a rather insulting assumption towards the Madden team. Do you really think those guys are sitting around, saying "Oh, sure, we could make all this stuff to make the game better, but hey, let's just not do it, sit around and watch silly youtube clips all day"? (okay, with all due respect, from my own personal experience with programming jobs, there ARE days at the office where the "silly youtube clips to work" ratio would likely raise some eyebrows, but those are exceptions, not the rule )

I'm sure those guys work their asses of like anyone programming games (which usually is a ****ty job with longer hours and pay below what you would earn elsewhere as a programmer... as a rule, you're making computer games because you love it, not to get rich) and if anyone is to blame, it's EA for setting publishing dates and budgets on which a game has to be developed. A certain number of developers can only do so much in a given amount of time, if you want more done, you have to give them more resources.

You gotta have Hope! (My Minnesota Vikings franchise)

After an incredible 2012 season ends with a Super Bowl win, Hope Turner and her Vikings are trying to prove that their performance was more than just a one-shot.

        Not happening here.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
