Steve Berthiaume gets my respect, not only for being a gamer and playing MLB The Show, but for his skills in creating players. Check out the article over at ESPN.

I know everyone has different methods for creating players, but I can get with what Steve was using for his formulas. Pretty cool that a guy that you know works long hours at ESPN is into creating players and playing a game that we all love, MLB The Show.

Great read!!! Steve Berthiaume is my favorite ESPN anchor...so much in fact, that when he's hosting BBTN, he's kept me from completing multiple franchise games with my Yanks! "Oh, Steve's hosting...only getting in one game tonight."

It's refreshing to see a person with a wonderful career, get the same basic joy out of this baseball sim as the rest of.

He's mentioned the game on the show before. Huh, who knew?

Thanks. I was just surfing around on ESPN and clicked on the baseball page and saw a video box that mentioned MLB The Show. I figured it would be your standard video, but both guys in the video clearly are gamers (I love the Toolshed reference to Online gamers) and know their stuff. They were up front about not using Analog and going with the Classic controls.

Then, I read the article and was really impressed. I think Knight should recruit SB to help put together some rosters.

No problem. I'm curious, Knight, what do you think of SB's formulas for creating players? How similar is it to what you do?

Reading that article makes me want to start working on some rosters myself.

                  nice find.

it must be awesome being Steve. you can narrate your own highlights!!

edit: as a rule of thumb, i stay away from places called the "tool shed", unless it's actually a shed that houses my tools.

Great Read! I commented on the article and told Steve to come on over to operations sports and see the work that is put into rosters that Knight over sees each year.

I think we may have found a volunteer for a highlight show in future versions of the game.
