More schools in trouble?
I might be late, but yesterday on ESPN in Chicago. They had an interview with Charles Robinson who was one the the people who broke the story on Tressel. He stated that in the next couple of weeks there will be another scandal that will come out. On the scale of 1-10 it will be a 6-7 and in August there will be another one that will be a 10. I wonder which teams are involved?Tags: None -

Re: More schools in trouble?
College football is getting worse and worse. With all the stupid new rules on the field and all the cheating off the field. Not much you can do about the rules on field but they need to start dishing out big time punishments to the off field cheating. That's the only way to stop it.

The NCAA is going through it's "Steroid Era" for lack of a better term. I'm willing to bet that at least one major school gets hit with some big time punishment.
I know the NCAA is loathe to do it especially since it killed SMU but maybe it's going to take another middle sized program to get the death penalty in order to set things right again.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: More schools in trouble?
They need to have a penalty scary enough that if you get caught you are screwed. Death Penalty for anything done to sway a recruits opinion might be the only thing. I think everybody would of taken a step back if the NCAA gave usc the death penalty. The NCAA is going through it's "Steroid Era" for lack of a better term. Re: More schools in trouble?
Thankfully the death penalty is reserved for schools classified as "Repeat Violators." Schools can only be classified as repeat violators if they commit a second major violation within 5 years of their probation for the first sanction. So if USC were to get caught doing something in the next few years, the death penalty would be on the table. Several schools are in the "Repeat Violator Window" (Arizona State, USC for example) and to my knowledge Alabama is the only school the NCAA has currently classified as a "Serial Repeat Violator" since they've been on probation every year since 1995.Last edited by AUsouthpaw2013; 03-11-2011, 03:29 PM.Always remember…..
