Re: Action Football Pc
It does come with the actual NFL Rosters (2010)but you have to download the real logos and if you want logos on the field there are sites to download them from as well.
I just downloaded this from the PC Action football site and I am enjoying it. Still have a lot to learn though. It does come with a digital manual and strategy guide which will be of some help.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Re: Action Football Pc
They have a projection disk that comes out around football season which will include the 2011 rosters and new draft picks for the upcoming season. Keep in mind...although it has an animation chalk board, it is NOT a videogame like Madden. The focus is on realism and football strategy, similar to games like SOM. If you want realism, it is the best text football game on the field, bar none. If you don't like text games, you should stay away.Comment

there was a post earlier saying that you have to "download" logos etc. This is true since they dont have the rights to nfl logos etc. There are a TON of sites out there where you can get these items from.
But as the person in the previous post said, this is a TEXT simulation with emphasis on coaching and team management. I am in 2 baseball and 2 football online leagues and have a ball. And one important area where APC has it all over strat is internet play. Its quick and easy to get connected and play a game over the internetComment

Re: Action Football Pc
I play both SOM and APC, but have to say APC football is a much better game. It has so many more options than SOM football and plays great. Easier interface and, like all APC games you can customizeit to suit your needs. Logos, fields, photos, ballparks.

Re: Action Football Pc
Pro Football Simulator has to be at worst at par with this game. The on field options may not be as good in terms of coaching but as a Manager game its at worst even. Can't pick each play, but you can set your playbook, set your strategies and watch the game with a in game 2d play viewer.
PFS has everything this game has and more. Custom playbooks, custom league formats, Fictional/Historical/Current Roster options.
The game also doesn't require you to buy a new version every year, and comes out with nearly monthly updates which put other updates to shame.Go Lions, Wings and Wolverines!Comment

Thats just a personal opinion and if you enjoy one game over another, thats cool. ITs all about what you enjoy.Comment

I know Management games have a huge fanbase. I tried OOTP and PFS and just seemed like the actual game, game decisions and playing a season took a big back seat to managing a team or a league and seeing how many seasons could get played. Again, this is a personal choice. Nothing wrong at all with that. I just prefer a coaching sim. A basic Salary cap and some league management tools are plenty for meComment

Re: Action Football Pc
My draw to PFS is the updates. I am hoping that we can get the inclusion of coaches, and more importantly play calling.
PFS has a good model in place, if it can implement a few changes that people want to see it could really take off. If you look at a game like football mogul. They have many of the things you'd see in AFPC but they do a terrible job with it.
If the game plays well and you give people what they want they will come, thats why I have big hopes for PFS.Go Lions, Wings and Wolverines!Comment
