    Holy Grail Sliders for MLB 2K11

    Fifth year of the sliders coming your way.

    I found the game to be very fun out of the box. I have tested extreme slider sets over the last few days and found the experience not as fun.

    I'm taking the approach of the positive 1st day reaction of the game. Therefore I wanted to keep as many sliders as possible at 50.

    However, I have become better at the game since breaking the shrinkwrap. I'm sure you have too, so time for more extreme slider settings to increase challenge but still add excitement.

    Goals of these sliders STILL are:

    -keep hit totals down (between 4-14 hits 90% of the time)
    -Find the right balance of speed (running and fielding)
    -Hit variety (make it a challenge to find the best timing window for hitting the ball square and be able to see pitch movement-curve/sliders should break noticeably)
    -Realistic pitcher fatigue which should help CPU manager AI for pitching changes, defensive subs and pinch hitting decisions)

    CAMERA: Hitting Cam 1 Zoom 2 Height 3
    Fielding Cam 2K9 Zoom 1 Height 10
    Baserunning Cam 2K10 Zoom 1 Height 10
    Pitching Cam Broadcast
    Strikezone Off, First Pitch Hot and Cold, Fielding Indicator Off
    Breakpoint Pitching
    Batters Eye (your choice)
    Pitcher Fatigue 40 (changed 5/30- keeps starters in longer)
    Injury Frequency 35 (changed 5/30 - injuries are less frequent after patch but too many at 50)


    *UPDATE ver 1.3- 3/23/11 mainly back to default pro with tweaked settings changes in BOLD
    MINOR UPDATE 3/24/11 upped USER/CPU power to 60 by suggestion of mkharsh and jayhawker)
    MINOR UPDATE 3/29/11 lowered USER/CPU composure to 5 at suggestion of mkharsh, Blazzen and bigfnjoe
    MAJOR UPDATE ver 1.4 - 4/7/11 balanced speed throughout game for more eye-test realism, changed batting sliders thanks to research by bigfnjoe, Blazzen and mkharsh.

    User Throw Accuracy 45 (was getting too good with fielding meter)

    Outfielder Throw Speed 70/70 (CHANGED 5/4)

        I like to test out sliders by playing CPU vs CPU to get it playing right and then adjust the user sliders to suit.

        These sliders are just a massive hit fest with CPU contact at 60, just watched the Rangers rack up 17 hits in 4 innings on the Yankees (Hughes pitching)

            These aren't meant for CPU vs CPU....this is the default All-Star setting for the CPU, meaning a lot of people are playing with these settings and the 1 million dollar contest will be using them too.

                      I played a game using the Brew Crew against the Orioles in Baltimore and I hit 3 out with Weeks and 1 with Gamel. Definitely possible to hit HR's with 50 power.

                      I think it is all about the contact number. I was using 30 contact and 70 power and getting right around the same number of HR"s with 50 and 50.

                        Thanks for posting these. For me it has made the game more fun and alot more realistic stat wise. I will be dropping the AI power a notch though as I feel like I'm seeing a little to much of the HR ball from the AI. Will see if it makes a difference. For sure the sliders for me though!!

                          Played one game with these last last night.
                          I was the Reds vs the Rockies and won 8-2.
                          I hit two hrs one with Votto and one with Phillips.
                          Hits were 12 for me and 5 for the Rockies.
                          Kind of liked playing with the classic hitting style.
                          I will play a few more games and report back.

                            I played a MLB Today game with these yesterday and overall liked them. I was the A's vs the Royals. Hit totals were realistic and as well as offense on both sides. Only thing I noticed that was a bit annoying is that the AI rarely swung at a ball out of the zone, and they hardly let anything go in the zone. But overall they had a nice feel to them and I will be playing with them more.

                              Thanks for the feedback. Please vote on this thread. I am working on some major tweaks at the moment. For now, I've made some minor changes and added box scores to the first post.
