    1992-1993 Season Rosters (360)

ROSTER UPLOADED at 2K SHARE - MONDAY, MARCH 27th

    - All 27 teams have 100% accurate rosters that reflect the post-trade deadline of Feb. 1993.

    - There were a total of 390 players who appeared on the 27 teams during the 92-93 season...this file provides you with 356 of them.

    - FIX ONE player: Vinny Del Negro of the Spurs needs his last name fixed.

    - Here are the teams to use:

+ Created Teams (10): Rockets, Nuggets, Clippers, Heat, Mavericks, Bullets, Bucks, SuperSonics, Nets, Pacers

+ Normal Teams (17): Sixers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Celtics, Hawks, Hornets, Jazz, Kings, Knicks, Lakers, Magic, Pistons, Spurs, Suns, Timberwolves, Trail Blazers, Warriors

    - You will want to be sure to use the retro uniforms before playing a game (portlandblazer has a good list in one of his threads here).

    - Go here for 1992-1993 overview: http://www.basketball-reference.com/.../NBA_1993.html

    - This will be a fun season to use... Shaq and Mourning are rookies on their respective teams. Barkley's Suns (league MVP) lost to Jordan's Bulls in the Finals, 4-2. Sadly, two great players would play their final seasons, Reggie Lewis and Drazen Petrovic, before passing away in the 1993 offseason.

    - I have other season rosters available (see my signature below), as does portlandblazer. See the thread here for Hardwood Classics - this will provide you with plenty of basketball and gives 2K11 great replay value!

I would appreciate a 5 star rating. Thanks for all the good feedback! Mike

LOL! Yeah, this happens to me with every game I start tinkering with rosters...I end up spending more time on the rosters than actually playing. Call me strange, but it's just a quirk I have...

You are a BEAST, MK! This is so appreciated, I can't begin to tell you. This roster sounds like it will be worth the wait.

Thanks, Dan. 6 more players left to create and then I can start the rating process for each team and depth charts/minutes.

It's funny, but I found a mistake that had me up in arms (not mine, but an NBA one). The Pistons have TWO players listed wearing #23 - Mark Aguirre and Melvin Newbern. I knew it had to be a mistake because Newbern was signed for the entire season after a 10 day contract.

I found the Pistons media guide online... You won't believe this but even they have it screwed up as it shows both players wearing #23. After some long research I found a youtube clip of a Pistons-Knicks game and got my correct answer: Aguirre wore #24 and Newbern #23. Now that's dedication (also known as stupidity)!

Mike is there any way possible to trade players on created teams from any of your rosters? thanks

I'm asking because on this 1993 roster I would want to switch the nuggets back to their normal team, and have the suns as a created team.

Gary, I'm not sure how it works inside of season mode. I know that you cannot trade players from created teams just as normal rosters. However, if you are moving a player from one created team to another created team it CAN be done.

To do so, go to roster management and create team. pick the team you want to move the player TO and select him. He is now cloned...

The problem is that you cannot move a created team's player to a regular team. You could grab that player on 2k Share or write down the basic attributes and re-create him.

I'll admit that I hate using created teams for this reason. However, it allows me to add players deep on depth charts and give each team anywhere from 12-15 players per roster. I HATE playing with rosters that I've found on 2k Share where there are only 8 man depth charts or players on the wrong season's roster. I can appreciate the attempt, but in the end those rosters are useless...

quick update... i'm rolling along on a good pace. i have all 27 teams completed with all transactions and full rosters that perfectly reflect the trade-deadline of Feb. 93.

I have 6 teams completely done with all edited attribute ratings and depth charts - minutes played finalized.

As a side note, I ran a game as the hornets (me) at philly (cpu). what a FUN game!!! You're absolutely gonna love playing with Muggsy, Zo and LJ.

Hornacek and Hawkins played in the same backcourt together and they were lighting me up! Gonna be fun to try to play as the Suns and see if the Bulls can get taken out!

                          Re: 1992-1993 Season Rosters (360)

Only 6 teams left. Once finished I will then go through a couple magazines I have from that season (street and smith & sporting news season previews) for appearance edits.

I use the magazines for the following season (ie. 93-94 preview) as they have great pictures and helpful information. (I bought a bunch of them on ebay a couple years ago..wasn't sure why at the time, but they're VERY helpful and useful now).

For example, David Robinson had a badly sprained thumb this season (92-93). He'll have the hand wrap on as nearly every picture of him I found included it. Will make the season quite realistic.

It's also interesting in the Street and Smith preview magazine the coaches used to write an article about their team that was put in it. that provides good information regarding depth chart and injuries from that season.

I'm also going to review each team for height and weight as the magazines have better information than what i'm using on basketball-reference.com. i've found that a number of their heights and weights are a bit off.

this promises to be the best file i've released and having played a few test games i can tell you that i'm thoroughly enjoying it. can't wait to share it!
