    1987 Roster? Any Interest

I have been working on a 1987 ****** set where I am collecting players with SCEA faces, giving them correct ages and importing them into a file.

For instance: Tony Gwynn with SCEA face, but with age and stats and most importatnly weight from 1987.

I also have been editing the fake minor leaguers and a**usting stats and importing them into the same file. I chose this method so that it would clear all actual players with MLB experience.

I have found two things, it takes forever, and I need help!

I have been working on it for a week and I have some stars on their teams with correct ages and also the Reds are almost complete. Anyway if there is any interest please pick a team and let me know.

I was thinking of whatever team you pick, edit fake minor leaguers then upload to the vault. I could then download it export the players and put them into the ****** I have already started. I uploaded my 1987 ****** WIP author KBunny26. Check it out, and if you like it let me know, and if not let me know what you don't like about it.

Remember, there is no definite timeline, but iwill update everyday I work on these ******s. The process is very time consuming. Try your best on faces, but I do not expect perfection, or anything close to it.

    IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT

If you create a player and then I import from another ****** it comes across scrambled, randomized. This only happens with players you "create", if you edit fake minor leaguers to export then it works just fine. You can create a player to get his real face, those work, but if you just use the "create player" option when I export from your ****** and save to master 1987 file the player is scrambled. So find fake minor leaguers and edit them instead and then move them into your team.

    UPDATE SECOND ATTEMPT

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/t7tsjk

    UPDATE 5/15

THE VAULT IS BACK UP! The roster is everything I have done as of 5/15/2011 They are called:

    1987 Full MLB V.1
    Username: KBunny26

For those wanting to track the work on the minors addition to the 1987 roster it is now in the vault and includes fixes, corrections to the 1987 file posted above:

    Full Minors for 1987 WIP
    Username: KBunny26

    Minors Done : DET, CLE

    Progress On : CIN, PIT

We are not yet complete with the 40 man rosters. We also are looking at pitch edits, ratings, potential ratings and such. It will be a process but this may be fun to use for some exhibition games for now until it is complete.

Thanks to everybody who worked on the project! Any feedback or errors you notice please post and let us know.

It may take awhile (got the blinking red light of death yesterday) but I'd be happy to take care of the '87 A's for your set.

      PJ,

Good deal I will continue to update the roster in the vault as I add players. Just PM me when you get a chance to work on them and I will let you know how far I am.

        Re: 1987 Roster? Any Interest

I posted the 87 roster in the Vault. My goal was to use it as an offline franchise roster, or online custome league roster.

I have been working on it the long way. I have been taking a base set editing the players with Potential close to what 87 players were and then exporting each player and then importing them into a master 1987 set that is in the Vault. KBunny26. It is listed as 1987 WIP as a HISTORIC set. People have been downloading them and I have been deleting and updating the set daily.

I need help, and so far I only have the Tigers and Reds done, Pirates almost done and stars such as Gwynn, N Ryan, and about 20 more at correct age and potential reflecting the 1987 season. To decide Potential I used A for HOF and perennial all-stars, B for players that were 1 or 2 time all stars and C for the rest of the players in the league. Potential is actually pretty easy to decide since we already know what happened during their career.

The hardest part is that it is time consuming, and I have no idea on correct pitch types, plus faces are difficult.

Check it out and if you want to help shoot me a pm. I was thinking if you picked a team, make the team on your own roster then you could upload the roster and I could import the players into my master file.

I will do the Yankees for you, thats my team and I know them well
Only thing I'm not sure of is, how do I change Mattingly's age, I downloaded him and it won't let me edit his age, but it was one that seca had hidden.

Thanks for doing these, If I get the yankees done fast I will work on another teams. I'm not great with faces, but have rosters from previous years I can copy how they did the faces, including 86 from last year that Joey did. So any faces I do the credit goes to someone else.

I was just thinking, if people are going to pick whole teams to do they should upload them in roster vault, and you can export them when you download the rosters, and after you do that they could erase them from the roster vault, as to not clog it up. That way you don't have to go through all the pages of individual players,

Something that help some of you guys out is going through the player vault and see if they have some of the players already created, it would speed up the process a ton. Just a thought

                Yanksfan,

The Yankees are all yours, the way to get Mattingly's age correct. Create a Player, not from fake generated minor leaguer. You put in all of his info including his correct age, but leave his audio name blank, then export him. You then download him into the Yankees on the roster you are working on. He should have his face correct once you put in his audio name.

We are using rosters created from fake minor leaguers. Remember to check the potential of the minor leaguers before you edit them, unfortunately i made a few dumb mistakes I had to change. You can upload it as 1987 WIP Yankees or something along those lines. Send me a private message through the OS email and I will compose a list of who is working on what.

I have never done any official roster work for OS, but always make my own teams and rosters in my spare time. If you need someone to do the Indians I'd like to give it a shot

I can put together the '87 Royals for you as far as creating the player, naming him and getting his info/positions in there. I can try some of the equipment, depending on pictures I can find.

I can't do anything with faces, really. I'm bad at that.

And as far as ratings go? Unless you have a specific way you want the batters done (following certain formulas, etc) then I don't know how much I can do of that. And for pitchers I have no idea where to find pitch-types for players, etc.

But...I can at least get it started.

Good to see a great year from a fellow Tiger fan...I was looking to possibly do this year or the 1984 year, but with my new job, just don't have the time...but glad to see someone do a year like this.

                        ZouDave,

Jemeyers1975 sent me a message earlier today and he already started on the Royals. The first post has the teams being worked on, and I will update it daily. Is there any other team you are interested in doing?

                        Bedwardsroy,
go for it, the Indians are yours. I have you down for the Indians, and don't worry about never doing this before, this is a community effort. I am sure once we are done I will post it and someone will take the roster and tweak it even more to improve it.

RWings, thanks, it is the last year I remember the Tigers being any good until 2006.

Is there a way to play a season with 4 divisions and not 6? I remember something about a 1 person custom online league workaround for this but I haven't explored it at all.

Yes there is, you create a private custom league online and only play as yourself or with others. I am not sure where it is explained, but somewhere here on Operaton Sports it is explained.
