DT or CB
If you primarily play with LBs or Safeties, what would you think is more important, drafting a highly rated CB, or a highly rated DT?

CB, and it's not even close. You can easily stop the run with good LBs, I'm usually playing in a 3-4 and I found that the Dline is by far the least important part of my team, give me some guys with a decent Tackling and I'll be fine. But the difference between a mediocre CB and a Revis-type shutdown corner is huge. You gotta have Hope! (My Minnesota Vikings franchise)

I concur; CB by a longshot, especially if you're playing the games yourself. Even with the best defensive lines, the interior push is seriously lacking."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment

Re: DT or CB
Again, I'd go with the CB. It's a lot easier picking up decent or good WRs (and even easier to pick up a good pass-catching TE which is a killer weapon on madden), while great CBs are hard to come by.You gotta have Hope! (My Minnesota Vikings franchise)

Re: DT or CB
CB! I value that over just about any other position. I have DRC, Mahammed Alipate, AND Takoby Jean-Louis in one of my online franchisies, to go along with Erik Berry and Tiqwaun Foley at S. A beast mode secondary is always the key to having a great defense in Madden imo.Comment

Re: DT or CB
I would say CB over all positions.
I recently tried the speed kills tactic in my online franchise and had all my CBs with crap ratings but they all had 95+ speed. Plain and simple, did not work. lol
2 games left in the season and I have the 32nd ranked pass defense. My record is 11-3.Comment

Re: DT or CB
This, to me, isn't as cut and dry as the DT/CB. I would say it comes down to where you are most deficient, and your mentality in playing the game. I didn't put a whole lot of stock in big-time receivers (probably because I have a 98 rated one) until recently. My main guy went down and suddenly, my offense, which was run-based, stalled.
And it wasn't even the speed factor that I missed the most: guy's couldn't get off the press, 3rd down passes were dropped left and right, and I really missed his blocking on the edge in the running game.
Just in my line of thinking, I can find a solid corner with a good zone rating and play him as the nickel, but I've had a hard time finding receivers that are well-rounded. There are plenty of fast guys, but maybe their acceleration is low or their catch in traffic is terrible (which makes him useless to me). Or maybe he's got good ACC and AGI, and he catch everything, but he's got 83 speed, which can limit the play-calling.
My team right now is stocked with well-rounded corners, so that's probably why I feel this way, but if you can find a total package WR (speed, AGI, great hands, and can beat the press), that's the way I'd go."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment
