Is this a goofy AI trade, or not?

In MyPlayer mode, I'm about 40 games into the season with my SG on the Bulls. The other day the Bulls AI GM made a trade that literally made me drop my controller.

The Bulls traded their 1st-round draft picks of the next TWO seasons for...

Tracy McGrady!!??

Initially, I thought this was bats*** insane, but then I thought, well, the Bulls are presently #2 in the conference, #4 overall, and we're on a 15-game winning streak. Maybe the AI is figuring that the Bulls will continue to dominate, and finish near the top for the next two seasons. That would likely put their draft picks at the bottom of the order. So, their 1st-round pick wouldn't be worth as much as, say, Toronto's or Minnesota's, who would be much higher in the draft order. So maybe that's worth a Tracy McGrady. But he's only rated like a 71 overall. Is that really worth two 1st-round picks, regardless of where they are in the order?

I dunno. What do you think?

In my association, before it got hit by a bug that forced me to not be able to advance to the next season, I traded for TMac as the Celtics. Traded a couple of first round picks I believe and got TMac and DaJuan Summers. TMac ended up being my 6th man and scored like 28 points in one of the Finals games. He was a huge contributor.

Late first picks are usually never get to a 70 rating, so I think its a fair trade.

In my association, before it got hit by a bug that forced me to not be able to advance to the next season, I traded for TMac as the Celtics. Traded a couple of first round picks I believe and got TMac and DaJuan Summers. TMac ended up being my 6th man and scored like 28 points in one of the Finals games. He was a huge contributor.

My association wouldn't let me advance to the offseason too. I don't know if it will work for you, but I exited and opened it again, and pressed the circle button, and it worked.

2k11 is a videogame,so Getting McGrady isn't a dumb move. he'll average 16 ppg.

In my association Wizards(me) traded 1st '11 pick to Cleveland for two 1st picks ('11 and '12) and 2nd '11 pick.

No it's not dumb. If it's in real life, it's really dumb, but this is 2k11. T-Mac is a beast in 2k11 if you know how to use him. Beside, those two picks are probably not lottery pick like you said, and the Bulls need a good SG (just like they do in real life). It's a good trade without breaking up the team if you ask me.
