SIAP: Question w/ Minor League FA's
I am attempting to sign a player from the FA pool. I dont want him on my 40 man roster but everytime i sign him he is automatically placed on the 40 regardless of whether I have a full 40 or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and sorry again if this was already posted somewhere.Tags: None -

Does the player have more than 3 years of MLB service?I am attempting to sign a player from the FA pool. This is a pretty good primer on how the 40 Man roster works. Ultimately, any free agent signed is automatically added to a teams 40 man.

Re: SIAP: Question w/ Minor League FA's
I am familiar with how the 40 man roster is supposed to work. Here is what is happening specifically:
I am using Knight's Rosters.
I am attempting to add RP Brandon Duckworth (a created player so he has 0.00 ML service in the game) to Pawtucket (Red Sox AAA).
I have a full 40 man roster and a full 25 man roster.
When I sign him the game assigns Duckworth to my MLB roster and gives him a 40 spot requiring me to DFA someone.
I have successfully added RP Manny Corpas to Texas Rangers without him taking up a 40 man spot. He has over 4.00 years of ML service...
Not sure if this is a glitch or i need to do something else.Comment
