    Madden 12 Over the Shoulder Camera?

    Any chance we get an option to use an over the shoulder camera (ie- Backbreaker) in Madden 12?

    I think this would be pretty cool to use, at least while playing offense, as I feel like it would give you a better sense of the on field atmosphere that this game seems to be missing.

    Also, without the abililty to see the entire field, it could create a much more realistic game of football vs online opponents. The "blindside" blitzes would acutally be a factor, and you would need to make reads at the line just like real QBs.

    Maybe we could get this camera as an "option" for online franchise's and ranked games. I don't want it to be the standard, just and option, for those that are interested...

    What do you think?

      agreed... Even though that camera was kind of cool for that game. There is no chance that it will be in Madden NFL 12. Backbreaker got away with it because it was more of an arcade game...

            To answer the OP's question, there is no way we get that camera this year (or ever probably), unless you count Superstar Mode. In that case we have already had it for years

              why not everyone on here preaches sim, sim, sim, then when you have the possibility of having a camera angle that would give you qb vision suddenly its a bad idea.

                Because as much as so many preach about change, they don't really want it. They want to simulate playing as an ENTIRE team, which is silly if you really break it down.

                  I'd be okay with the over-shoulder camera as an OPTION. But as something that I'm required to use? Absolutely not. Hated it in the Backbreaker demo.

                  Sometimes it is okay to sacrifice realism if it makes a game fun.

                    OMFG!!

                    One of the worst things about BackBreaker was it's erratic, over the shoulder, restricted camera. It even had their own forums in an uproar begging for more options. I would even go so far as to say that the camera is the main reason the game sold so poorly. The Greathouse patch even attempted to appease this but still wasn't enough. The last thing EA needs to "pinch" from BackBreaker is the camera....replay system, customization, physics, tackling....those are the only things EA needs to imitate! {and maybe lighting...liked the way the players looked not the uniforms, just that they seemed more real}

                      LOL 100% NoNoNO!!! Mainly because that cam. angle was pure awful in my opinion. But I mean they could add it in there for people who want it still. But it wouldn't happen really until they got alot of request for the cam.angle. But for me that cam. angle was not at all good in BB. I love the cam. angle madden has currently.

                      P.S. The best way they could solve this problem is give people Custom Cam. options so they can create their own cam.angle.

                          Please don't start the arcade/sim comparison. I could list a ton of things that make Madden arcade.

                            We've seen games with the camera close to the action before...

                            The close to the action cam appeals to only hand-full of people as evidenced by the number of people that play Madden on Superstar mode. Not enough to merit changing the view. Also, outside if Superstar mode a camera that close to the action would be disorienting, especially when switching players on defense.

                            IMO, Madden's appeal comes from the sandlot feel of drawing up plays in the dirt and running them as a coordinator directing his team.
