Sorry if this has been discussed or mentioned already but I was playing a game and Soup said that this would be a good game to discuss online in the little things thread or something along those lines, was that a nod to the little things thread on here?

Yep. There's also a shoutout to Knight at Mets home games (listen to the PA announcer if you sit on your hands for a bit).

I've heard the comment about the little thing thread but what about the knight comment. What does the PA say?

"Fans, the New York Mets would like to congratulate our Fan of the Game, M.K. Knights of FDNY, sitting in section 1-6-3. Good to have you here!" or something to that effect.

Like I said, you'll hear it eventually if you pause or sit on your hands for a bit while your team is on D.

Chris Berman of ESPN has also given praise to Knight (and co.) for the OSFM rosters each year. I've not seen that myself though.
