When do you hold down RT?

So I have been playing a while now and I got thinking, am I using the "turbo" button incorrectly? When do all of you hold down the RT when attempting to get to the hole? Do you do all your moving around without it and simply hit that at the last second as you hit X or RS for the dunk or are you hitting it much sooner in an attempt to get around the defender?

I have a feeling that I might be attempting to use it wrong...

Obviously in an open court situation where my guy is out in front (almost never happens) I would hold the RT down so no one can catch up but I am asking more from a half court or even on 3 vs 2 break situation.

Pretty much whenever I need to make a basketball move that requires it. Usually on drives or to set up moves. I try to be conservative with it because timing is important and holding Turbo can cost you an opportunity.

Re: When do you hold down RT?

I really depends on the player for me...

When using Rose, I use sprint to drive almost all the time. But when I use derek Fisher I barely ever sprint unless it's necessary(like to beat a press or drive thru an open lane...). With Fish I like to swish the walk up threes. And DJ Augustin is completely different than Rose/Fish because i can drive by everyone on a fastbreak and either get a layup or just plain beat everyone up the court and find a trailer.

Just don't think about it too much tho. Just use it when it feels right to you.

Speaking of walk up threes.... is there a way to get a guy to step UP to the 3 point line when you pass it to him before he receives the pass? There are many times when the players (great shooters like Ray Allen) just stand there 5 feet or so BEHIND the freaking line even when their defender leaves them to go dubble the ball! Its so frustrating as I wish Allen would step up to the line and be ready to shoot a 3 when he gets the pass because if I have to dribble it up it gives the D time to recover plus I might go past the 3 point line.

I use it the most during defensive and offensive transition. In the half court, not much at all honestly.

Re: When do you hold down RT?

I've learned to use it strictly as a change of pace in the half court game...a quick boost here or there. For most players, just going to the rim by itself without turbo is usually fast enough.
You shouldn't worry about what others think of you, because if you knew how little they did, you would be insulted.

remember there is no turbo in this game RT is for speed i only use it when i get a step on the defender and to get to spot on the floor. did you watch the czar tutorial videos? check them out trust me.

Use icon passing (RB + icon + direction you want your man to move to).

in transition. both offensive and defensive fastbreaks. sometimes on drives to the hoop when i feel i need to. idk really just whenever it feels like i need to sprint i sprint, you kinda just learn when eventually

I also hold down RT when I want to use a pick and explode to a spot on the court so I can shoot.

Never use it. Only when I need to dunk. It just doesn't look like a natural increase of speed, makes the players look like road runner on crack. I don't even use it on fast breaks, looks horrible.
