What happened to impact player?

Is it me or since the last-gen they stopped taking effect like they used too?

Impact players are still in the game, but their effect has been toned down a bit. They still do affect the confidence level of their on-field teammates when they play well, but the effect isn't nearly as dramatic as it was in the PS2-era games when it was arguably overdone.

They may toned it down a little to much though. Another thing about that impact is you can't change them. We should have the ability to change them if they get hurt or red shirted

Ive never really noticed the impact players extra boost of skills. To me its was just a symbol to let you know who were the best players on the team.

I remember it being more noticeable with defensive players, especially linebackers or defensive lineman. If a ball carrier or receiver got hit by one of these guys (or blind sided), the ball was jarred loose 75 percent of the time.

I think this was more on the older consoles as well.

Definitely a huge difference from PS2 to PS3. When impact players first appeared on PS2 in NCAA 06 you feared playing against them and loved having them. A lot of people thought it was overdone but I loved the challenge. On the PS3 it seems they just go to the top 3 players on your team and I don't think it means much else.

I miss the impact player of NCAA 06 along with the matchup stick which would quickly give you a look at every player's abilities on the field.

The guys at EA should pop in a last-gen version of their game and see how much IMPACT the impact player really had on the game

I believe your impact players should always have an impact. If I'm Western Kentucky vs Alabama, my Impact HB should still be able to get a very good game yardage wise.

Thank god they toned it down from last gen where it was a gimmick feature and not realistic at all. It was corny when your impact HB would start glowing, flashing or whatever then he'd morph into some demon who broke every trackle.

Impact players were overdone and cheesy.

No thanks. I will pass on how they performed in last gen versions. I prefer how they are managed now.

I must agree with the last 2 post. It was way overdone. Especially when the defensive impact players would light up and you knew something crazy was going to happen.

I think the impact players work fine the way they are now. However, I would like to see fewer of them. Impact players should be the best players in college football instead of the best players on the team.

for me in NCAA '06, having an impact HB meant a guarantee win(versus CPU). It was way overdone then.

They may have been overdone in 06 but they should least be recognized besides just having a star under them
