Besting The Jordan Challenge (Part 2)

In part two of Besting The Jordan Challenges (part one found here), we achieve the Isomotion and lead Michael to his six championship rings.

    The Shrug
    June 3, 1992 vs. Blazers
    Game 1, NBA Finals

Score 35+ points in the first half
Make 6+ threes in the first half
Hold Drexler to under 20 points
    Win the game

The media once said Drexler and Jordan were even in all categories and stats except 3s heading into the NBA Finals in '92. Jordan decided to shoot from long range, going 6-6 from 3-point land, proving why he is the best to ever play.

In the 1992 NBA finals it was actually 6-7 from 3 point land. He went for a 3 after the timeout the Blazers took after the 6th

I enjoyed this set of articles. The Flu Game is definitely the hardest out of the last set; like you mentioned, 2K did a great job of portraying Jordan in this game as he's not 100% and that's reflected in his game, both in terms of driving to the basket and shooting from the perimeter.

I think it will be interesting to try the Jordan Challenge again, this time using All-Star (can you change the settings to SIM?).

I beat the "flu" challenge playing MJ a lot at PF and Center to get those rebounds. Even though I won the challenge, Scottie never embraced me or anything. The question is do I have to get the same exact numbers Jordan got that night in order for that moment to happen?

The hardest challenge by far for me was the Knicks, that defense and Ewing was torture. I also struggled a little holding Drexler down.

no. all you have to do is match it or beat the obective. ex if you need 55 points u can score 56 it be fine.

i wish when you get the 6 threes or 35+ points in the first half that 2k would have had made jordan do the shrug

^He does it after you hit the 6th 3 pointer. I've seen it the various times I've played the challenge.

Well, I completed the challenged and never saw the animation of MJ embracing Pippen.

Yeah, the shrug is definitely in there. I don't recall seeing the Pippen-MJ embrace during the Flu Game, either. But, it's been months since I've played the Jordan Challenge, so I can't say for 100% if it's not there.

The Father's Day celebration is in the game, though. I do remember that one.

You mean MJ lying on the floor crying? I never saw that either .
