Gameplay Improvements?
I know that EA has released a ton of info on the new upgrades to the Dynasty with the coaching carousel but there has been little said about the actual fundamentals of the way the game is played. They have talked about improvements in the zone coverage which is nice and necessary. However, when are they going to address the PA passing game or the lack of special teams play? When are they going to add position specifics and just improve the game play as a whole. I love this game and the depth of the game in the dynasty mode is nice but what will keep me playing the game for a long time with out and fully invested in the game is in depth gameplay.Tags: None -
Re: Gameplay Improvements?
I totally agree with what you are saying but I don't ever recall them talking much on things like this. Take play action passing for example. It was pretty much worthless last year (it got to the point where I wouldn't even call a PA pass because it usually ended in a sack) but I bet they tweaked it to make it work more like it should.....they just probably won't mention it. I guess it would be like admitting it didn't work correctly last year? -
Re: Gameplay Improvements?
I never called a PA pass the way it was drawn up - I always had to hot route my faking RB into a pass block. That way the fake handoff animation didn't happen but I still got the same routes and the screen did a sort of quasi-PA hiccup thing with the timing.I totally agree with what you are saying but I don't ever recall them talking much on things like this. My offense is usually built around power running and PA, so this was absolutely the most annoying thing about NCAA 11 for me. Well, that and progression.GAMEPLAY ABOVE ALL

Re: Gameplay Improvements?
I must be the only person who uses PA then. I do get sacked every now and then, but most of my passes are from PA.BuffEye Rosters available on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The most in-depth roster for NCAA 14 and beyond.

Re: Gameplay Improvements?
Im sure gameplay got little improvement where it was drastically needed. We've been getting alot of fluff with game modes but it is all for not if gameplay sucks.. I'd like to see more gameplay video's to see if tweaks have been made to the sliding & mirroring shown in some to the early vids.PSN: Somo23P

Re: Gameplay Improvements?
Playaction passes are improved and actually can work this year.
Zone coverage is drastically changed and improved this year.
The blocking and tackling logic has been changed due to the elimination of suction tackling and suction blocking. Now blocking/tackling animations don't trigger until contact is made.
Diving catches were also added, giving receivers the ability to get a pass that would have been "just out of reach" in NCAA 11.Comment

Re: Gameplay Improvements?
If you wouldn't mind, could you go into a little bit more depth about the PA passing? For example, is the handoff speed increased, blocking better, D-L awareness tweaked, etc? There are/were more than a few broken components to it in NCAA 11.Playaction passes are improved and actually can work this year.

"Actually can work" sounds kinda sketch still. It's not like PA passing is like running a reverse or something really risky.GAMEPLAY ABOVE ALL
