NHL 12 and the Winnipeg team

So, with the announcement that the NHL's returning to Winnipeg, how will EA alleviate this for NHL 12? Will the Thrashers be replaced by the new WPG team?

The new Winnipeg team should be in the shipped version of the game, I have little doubt about that. NBA Live 09 shipped with OKC, and I believe that relocation was announced later.

As far as the logo and uniform, they may be able to squeeze that in, but if not they would make it available through DLC (again, like Live 09 with OKC).

Thanks for the info. I would hope the team would be in. If EA was smart they would maybe even have the MTS Center in as well as Winnipeg was rumored last year as a strong possibility to get a team, and then EA could of developed the arena plan as a backup It would be nice, but as long as they would have the team logo, name, jersey and hopefully announcing as still calling It Atlanta would suck

Any ideas/tips on moving the Thrashwers to WPG in 11? Is Create-a-Team the best option? How do you load them into a game mode?

Yes, Create the team and then when you start a Franchise there should be an option to replace a team(s) in there somewhere. I don't remember how and don't own NHL 11 anymore, but I know it can be done.

Ya as Savoie said just create the team. Then when you go into season or BAGM you can press (Y) in the team select screen I believe and it allows you to substitute a team. Just chose the team you created and your good. Just make sure when you create the team to move all of the Thrashers players on to Winnepeg though.

Also if your looking to play just an exhibition game you go into play now and hit right trigger or left trigger until you get to the custom teams category. Then you can chose Winnepeg.

Wonder how the conferences will be after you play your 2nd season as WPG in Be A GM??? Southeast next year, probably northwest the year after.

Frankly, I am willing to bet that Winnipeg is stuck in the Southeast division for your entire Be A GM tenure. Sorry to be a killjoy.

yup they will stay in the SE division... which really doesnt make sense since they are way up north. so it would be interesting to see how NHL will fix this

In-game they'll probably just be stuck in the Southeast.

They could get around this though if they do what NCAA 12 is doing and add the ability for us to customize the conferences and divisions in any offseason.

In real life they'll be moved to the West at the end of next season, which probably means one of Columbus, Nashville or Detroit (least likely) will move East. Also, it's possible we could be looking at the Coyotes playing somewhere else not this offseason, but the next, when the re-alignment will happen, so we could be looking at even more changes.

Hopefully this forces the NHL to stop dicking around with the whole Phoenix relocation thing and just move them already so they re-align in one thing instead of a realignment next offseason, then another possibly after that.

Hey guys! I found a workaround For the non-relocation feature.

                          1. Create a Winnipeg team--- add thrashers players to them!

                          2. Start a GM mode

                          3. Replace Colorado with Winnipeg

                          4. Replace Dallas With Colorado

                          5. Replace Nashville with Dallas

                          6. Replace Atlanta with Nashville
