Yup quick snaps are back again.... EDIT: Confirmed it is being fixed before ship date
Well after watching several videos of game play it looks like the cpu quick snap is yet again a problem. As soon as the qb steps up to the line he immediately snaps the ball unless he puts a man in motion. This is very annoying and it is almost impossible to set up your defense.

Madden Daily Dev... We're looking into CPU quick snap right now. It won't ship this way.Last edited by Steve_OS; 06-16-2011, 07:21 PM.Tags: None -
Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
is it really that hard to program a random time element into the cpu snapping the ball? i hate that its always 1-3 secs after lining up or at 3 secs left on the clock when theyre running down time. completely takes out the "head game" elements of snapsLets Go:

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
Conventional wisdom would say that it isn't that hard to get into the game. But if we lend some context to it, maybe it's not something they can circumvent.
Remember, they bothed this up when they patched M09. The CPU was taking a day and a half to snap on punts and extra points. Fast forward to the community day for M10, and we had a conversation in the conf room about the quick snaps and how it needed addressing. M10 shipped that year with the quick snap fully functioning. Ditto M11. And apparently, ditto M12.
That's why I personally can't get into strategy pad. I don't get enough time to fool around with it.

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
I haven't really been looking for it in the few vids I've seen, but this HAS to be fixed it is still part of the game. It pretty much renders the addition of all of these pre-snap coverage adjustments useless to us offline players.
And the quick snap shouldn't be tied to the accelerated clock, as their is always at least 18 seconds on the play clock each time the huddle breaks, regardless of the runoff."A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
If they can't randomize it, I'd hope that they can at least make it a standard 3 seconds. 3 seconds gives a little more time, and doesn't hold the game up.
Like Palmer said, the re-introduced pre-snap options are useless without time to use them.Comment

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
If memory serves me correct, doesn't the quick snap have to do with the new accelerated clock feature? I thought I read somewhere that if you turned off accel clock the cpu qb would snap the ball at random times. Not sure where I read this though.Moderator

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
Could be but like SenatorPalmer said, it shouldn't have anything to do with the accelerated clock since there's always ample time left after leaving the play call screen. Unless its just a programming bug that they haven't been able to fix. Either way I hope it doesn't ship this way because its frustrating not having any time to set up your defense.Patriots

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
I remember hearing this and trying it out only to have the cpu still quick snap it...It's not just about being able to do pre snap defensive assignments, its just plain unrealistic, and to me, kills the flow of the game. Kinda a big deal to me, but I'm guessing others won't feel the same...Comment

Re: Yup quick snaps are back again....
I agree 100%. I am able to make some pre play adjustments, which I believe is because I know my playbook very well.I remember hearing this and trying it out only to have the cpu still quick snap it...It's not just about being able to do pre snap defensive assignments, its just plain unrealistic, and to me, kills the flow of the game. Biggest problem with cpu quick snap is that it it causes time of possesion statistic to heavily favor me which screws up my defensive players tackle statistics because I have the ball at least 10 minutes longer than cpu which is completely unrealistic.
I am not a programmer so call me crazy, but I don't believe it is hard to program due to the fact that elite QBs such as Manning and Brady etc, are less likely to quicksnap because they make L.O.S. adjustments, send players in motion and so on. I have seen other cpu QBs do this as well but very rarely in Madden 11, 10, even M09 on old gen.
I believe quicksnap is more of a marketing tool rather than a programing issue because casual gamers want to be the QB of there favorite team, orchastrate long drives, pound the rock, etc. Quicksnap is not an issue for online and head to head gamers which sadly leaves the long time, hardcore, simulation minded offline franchise gamers kind of left out. To be fair, I can live with it but definately unrealistic for sure.Comment
