If Madden 12 was on the PC

Im really enjoying the way Madden 12 looks, and the animations look nice.

Then it hit me. Man if Madden 12 was on the PC it could get scary lol.

We all know the PC takes games to the next level, but at a cost. I have to admit if
Madden 12 was on the PC. I would jack up my pc to maxs Madden 12 out on it.

What a shame they do not make Madden for the PC. The possibilities are crazy

Your right on that. I think with fifa they do not use the same code. Just my speculation. Seems they are using the ps2 version, not the next gen version.

With madden Im talking about using the same exact Madden that is on the next gen console over to the pc.

Animations would be smoother, graphics unreal, and then the modding we can do

      It would have been nice

Re: If Madden 12 was on the PC

Doesn't EA market the Fifa games similar to what they did with Madden on PC? The current console version is always ahead of the PC version, I'm pretty sure they do this for Fifa because I have the newer one on PC and it lacks the features found on the current console version.

As far as how much Madden could be pushed, if EA would ever give people full modding ability it would be crazy. Then again, if people could edit Madden fully then you wouldn't even need to buy the game yearly unless there is major updates since people could add in current rosters and add to the game.

If Madden 12 was on PC it would look great I bet, and looking at how NBA 2k11 has done I'm sure you'd see the same additions that take the presentation to the next level. I also go 2k11 on the PC and just adding TNT/ESPN logo's over 2k's make the game feel even better.

According to the news abouts EA's Origin service (Steam competition), FIFA AND MADDEN 12 will be available on that service. This would mean a return to the PC FOR BOTH.

I believe PCs are for work... consoles are for play. I have owned Madden on PC before, but it wasn't nearly as 'fun.'

Really for me it was a blast. I was able to add so many mods. I was able to add 80 NCAA teams with full uniforms, and field art.

I work with some guys from Football freaks, and together we did some great things.

Electronic Arts is doubling down on the digital-gaming space with the launch of a new direct-to-consumer platform, called Origin.
Launching later today, Origin will allow gamers to purchase and download over 150 games directly to their PCs. So far, the content on the site is limited to games from EA "and its partners," the company said in a statement today. In the coming months, EA says that it will offer more games, including the highly anticipated Battlefield 3, FIFA 12, Madden NFL 12, and Mass Effect 3.
"Origin is a game service with two fundamental features," David DeMartini, senior vice president of Global Online at EA, said in a statement. "It's a download service for the very best content from EA and its partners. It also offers a social function which, over time, will connect a player's profile with friends lists and a cross-platform feed that shows what your friends are playing and where."
That social element comes through Origin's desktop application. After downloading it, users can connect with friends and find out what games others are playing. Users of the desktop app will also be able to download games to their PCs.

Origin, which will go live at 9 a.m. PT today, is EA's answer to Steam, a service that offers a wide selection of content. According to Steam's Web site, it now has more than 1,100 games available from a slew of developers for users to buy and play on a Mac or PC. Steam currently offers content from EA, including The Sims 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, among others.
As of this writing, Steam has nearly 2.5 million concurrent users on its service. The service had more than 3 million concurrent users earlier this week.
EA's decision to jump into the direct-to-consumer market for PC games makes sense. Back in September, the NPD Group revealed that during the first six months of 2010, PC game downloads outstripped physical PC game sales by 3 million units. Moreover, digital downloads accounted for 43 percent of overall game revenue.
                  Going mobile
But EA isn't planning to stop at just PC games. The company also said today that it will be offering Origin to mobile gamers, allowing them to play Scrabble, among other titles, from their devices. After it launches, Battlefield 3 will also be available through Origin's mobile offering.
"In the future, mobile gamers will also be able to see what games their friends are playing, as well as compare high scores and share what's fun," the company said in a statement discussing further mobile Origin features.
EA's Origin launch will likely be just one small part of a much broader strategy on the company's part to transition its operation away from the traditional packaged-goods model. Last month, EA CEO John Riccitiello said that his plans over the long-term involve making EA a digitally focused company.
"Over the coming years, we will transform EA from a packaged goods company to a fully integrated digital entertainment company," Riccitiello told investors during an earnings call last month. "We're transforming EA to a games-as-a-service model."
That strategy seems to be working. During its last fiscal year ended March 31, EA saw its digital-games revenue grow by 46 percent year over year to more than $800 million. The company is currently forecasting that revenue to grow once again to over $1 billion this fiscal year.

Re: If Madden 12 was on the PC

I've been strictly pc for almost a year now since I got my eyefinity(3 monitors)setup. I still have a 360, but sold my ps3 right after getting my pc. I absolutely love gaming on the pc! It seems that EA couldn't or didn't want to spend the time and effort to bring the next gen madden to pc......the difference between madden 08 pc and console is night and day. Madden 08 on the pc looked exactly like the ps2 version. On the other hand, 2k games actually look better on pc. If EA could bring the next gen Madden and NCAA to pc....with eyefinity, it could open a whole new market! By the way, here's a pic of mlb 2k11 with eyefinity.

How is it still unclear? It clearly says in the article that they will be bringing it to Origin, their answer to Steam, a PC-game "store".

In the upcoming months, EA will be releasing Madden NFL 12 to the PC on Origin. Origin, again, being a PC-game store.

They are probably talking mobile app, especially when it comes to Madden. There is definitley NOT going to be a physical version of the game on PC..So i dont see why there would be a digital version.

Bottom line is PC version sales fell off every year since 05. It got to a point where EA didnt feel it was worth the cost of continuing the line.

The serious sports game fan knows the PC gives us so many more options and the chance to mod galore. But, unfortunatley we are a minority. Most people feel a PC is NOt a sports gaming system and they have it in their heads that only a console could possibly be good.

Plus, the casual gamer will more likely pick up a copy of Madden for the xbox or PS. A father may get it to play with his son etc. I know the sales for 08 PC were horrible.

I too, wish they would spend some effort and bring it to the PC and take advantage of the better hardware, bigger drives and memory. One thing the console people lose sight of is they hardware in an xbox is 6 years old. there is a LIMIt to how good a game can look. I would love to see Madden 12 on a TOP end PC.

$$$$ talks. And it has EA's ear
