NHL 12: Action Tracker = Improved Intermissions?

So, will the advent of the NHL Action Tracker in EA Sports' NHL 12 herald the coming of an actual intermission, something that's been missing since NHL 07? (Unless you consider the Scouting Report an intermission...)

highly doubt NHL 12 will have actual intermission reports.

EA seemed to want to focus more on-ice improvements (300+ of them)

It looks like there will be no intermission report but it will be awesome to have replays saved in the action tracker. Shots, goals, hits, ect. That has me excited! I'm a replay whore, lol. :google:

For me personally...I'm always glad if the main focus is placed on the core element, gameplay.

Of course nothing against those who would enjoy intermission reports etc...But damn, I have enough trouble getting through the seasons.:)

Exactly. I don't have anything against intermission, TV-like presentations, beard in the playoffs, real water in the bottles, etc, but to enjoy that, you have to give a game that is fun to play to begin with.

I've got back to NBA 2K11 for a week now and that's the bottom line with the game. The "goodies" around the game are enjoyable because playing the game is fun. If the game was a pure mess, the intermission, the depth of stats and so wouldn't be that relevant.

I hope EA give us a game we finnaly can enjoy offline, and going from there, add more meat to the bone with all the goodies that enhance a hockey game experience.

Yep FB, I agree. There's lots of elements to a great sports game. And the "goodies" are certainly some of those. But solid, believable gameplay imo...is what really gives a sports game, replayability.

yea.... u hit the nail on the head FB and Vikes. i would rather see BIG IMPROVEMENTs in the gameplay (in particular in BaGM). or else its NOT HARD to resist in buying 12 if I dont see great improvements.
